M-715 Pickup
heepey replied to Chariots of Fire's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Following this. I started a build like this based on my 1:1 M715. Both the model and the 1:1 builds are stalled at this point. The Honcho is close but has some real short comings. This looks great so far. -
My Grand Cherokee
heepey replied to heepey's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I haven't used Acme Platemaker in a while but need to go there. Montana makes us replace the plate every 5 years. -
An attempt to build a model of my 1:1 '97 Grand Cherokee. This is the Tamiya 1/24 Grand Cherokee kit with some larger tires and a 3d printed kayak on the roof rack. It is painted in the same color as used on the real car. The kit is of a '94ish Jeep but is very close to the '97. First a photo of the 1:1 then the model.

I wouldn't worry about those wheels and tires. Back when the kit was first produced there wasn't that much available in after market wheels and tires. Now there are all sorts of different combinations that can be accessed from other kits. I would be more interested in an accurate small block or slant six.

Its been a couple of years but this is now as close to done as it will get. Pbucket issues with all the build pics and lots of other pics but here is the latest.

That is a very cute little car, and nicely done!

I have a 3d printer at work and have been working on designing a bed for the Spec-Cast Willys flatbed that represents the stock pickup box. The assembled box is a little long so I will be printing a shortened one one when I am back at work next week. Then filling, sanding and painting.

1971 Ford F350 Dump
heepey replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Amazing little dump truck! -
I don't remember how I put them on the first time but as they fall off I put them back on with super glue. I used the box art for locations. This one is not finished. I have a lot of details to add and a little weathering.

My new project. K-123 Tow. Done (almost)
heepey replied to Jonj238's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I have an extra wheel that you are missing. let me know if you are interested in it. -
I see some similar projects on here so I thought I would put up my project. An AMT K-123 that I built in the 80s then a couple of years ago decided to turn into a wrecker. An AMT Pete wrecker tow bed cut down to fit the stock frame length, modified hydraulic cylinders for the boom and modified winches and other added bits as the spirit moves me.

Great, looks like one I am working on. I guess I will start my own thread. -
Following Chuck's post I though I would show my take on the Revell Police Expedition. Box stock with computer generated decals. This will be part of a dio I am working on.

Revell Jeep Rubicon
heepey replied to Petetrucker07's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I've done a few of these in die-cast. It is a fun little build with a host of possibilities for modifications. The plastic version is much easier to work with. Somehow I missed most of the posts of builds but there are some great builds that have been on here. -
1979 International Scout II
heepey replied to Fabrux's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice Scout. I like the added details in the engine room. The little six is cute. -
Dodge A100 Schoolbus 1/25
heepey replied to dragstueck's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Neat idea and a great build. -
Here's a project that I started some time ago using the 1/32 pumper body and the 96 Dodge cab and chassis. The body is a little narrow for the dually wheels so I added a lip to the wheel well.
