Joe Handley Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Had nothing better to do.........that I wanted to anyway....... And had been thinking of a conversation in the chat room last night too.
Harry P. Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I'd like to see you build the model version of that!
Joe Handley Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I'd like to see you build the model version of that! Anybody got a reeeeeeeeeealy warped A-Team van or Revell van? LOL
Dr. Cranky Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 This second one might be easier to execute.
Joe Handley Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I don't know Virgil, you'd have to start with a '57 Chevy and lots of extra styrene
Harry P. Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 How cool would it be to make a model of one of your illustrations? I say go for it!
Chuck Most Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 How cool would it be to make a model of one of your illustrations? I say go for it! X2! Heck, if I can do it, so can you...
Dr. Cranky Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Wow, I don't think I had seen that one, Chuck, or maybe you have so many builds now that it's hard to keep track. What a great job. Love all the details on it.
Joe Handley Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) I've got a good idea what the van would need (just unwilling to cut up my last remaining A-Team van for it), but I've got no clue where to start on something that unrelated to a stock model body. That thing could end up like Chezoom, the vin number would be the only part left untouched! Edited November 11, 2011 by Joe Handley
Chuck Most Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Actually a Chezoom might not be a bad starting point for that custom hardtop.
Joe Handley Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 I've got one of the Revell 1/12 '57 Chevy's here that would probably be a starting point......either that, or that early 60's AMT '57 Chevy that had all the cool period speed and kustom parts left out of it on the most recent reissue.........still kinda hacked off about that one!
Joe Handley Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 Did another one that would be within the relm of buildable in Styrene or 1/1, just not sure of what the best way to rake the windshield is........
Joe Handley Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Thanks Gary! Here's another, I was kinda aiming for a kustom 4dr Hudson with this one.
Joe Handley Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Ok, still kinda away so here's a couple I knocked out tonight. For the first one, I've long considered the Lotus 7/Chaterham to be the British "Track-T". I would love to build Track-T someday using a relatively modern domestic turbo 4 cylinder ( I had wanted a 2.2/2.5 early T1, but could happily use a SRT 2.4 turbo motor too) and then set it up so it can actually turn well and make it a decent Track Day type car too. The second one is a Track-T....ish roadster, more along the line of the Alumacoupe, but with the engine where it belongs.....between the driver and front axle centerline!
Chuck Most Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 If you are feeling exceptionally brave, you might be able to use the R&R '48 4-door body to create that Hudson.
Joe Handley Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 The Hudson was more of a "for the heck of it" sketch, but would work for insperation towards others thoug
