sjordan2 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 (edited) I am a member of many forums, yet since this one has upgraded, I have no option for an autofill sign-in like every one of the others. This is the only forum where I have to sign in each time and have to re-enter everything. Is there a reason? Edited November 11, 2011 by sjordan2
Jordan White Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 What browser do you use? I know that Firefox and Chrome asks you if you want it to autofill the name and password for you. Otherwise, why not check the box that lets you stay signed in?
Harry P. Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Every time I open this site I'm already signed in because I never sign out.

I use Firefox and, as I said, every other forum offers me the autofill option, but not this one. All my other autofill sites just require me to click on the autofill, already entered, when I come to them each day. This one requires me to enter the user ID and password every time, with no opportunity to set an autofill. Edited November 11, 2011 by sjordan2

george 53 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I never sign out either. I just turn the comp off at night, and in the morning, the sites just here, waiting for me.

Chuck Most Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I never log off this site either, but when I shut down, when I come back I have to sign back in. I use IE, but I don't use IE to remember my passwords, so I have to log back in manually every time.

No, when I open every other site I get a screen with all my information already entered in the fields, and I just need one click on the Sign In button. Edited November 11, 2011 by sjordan2

That's weird. I don't have to do any of that, I never see any screen with login information. I signed on here once, never signed out again. Whenever I come back here I'm already signed on. If there is some sort of option here to "remember me" or "remember my password," make sure that you have that selected. Another way to go: in your Firefox preferences there is a choice to "Show my windows and tabs from last time." I have that selected, so every time I open Firefox, not only do I not have to sign in here again, I don't even have to type in the url... because this site is already (and always) open. Same with my email program... I just have them set to be open automatically every time I open Firefox.

That's my problem, and believe me, I know how this stuff is supposed to work. This site gives me NO "remember me" options of any kind on my browser, and that's why I'm stumped. Every other site shows me that, but this one doesn't. Here's what I get when I go to Scale Auto, which offers that selection. All I have to do is click on "Log In." Can't make it happen here. Could this be because I'm on Mac? Here's what I get every time I come to this site each day after opening up my computer, and I have to fill out the user ID and password every time, then click on "Sign In," even though I never signed out. Harry P. Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I use firefox and am on a Mac, just like you. I do it the way I described... I never have to sign in, because I don't sign out. Why it works differently for you, I have no idea.
bill_rules Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Do you have the current version of Firefox? I have Firefox 7.0 and never have to sign in here or at any other modeling forum. But I do have the signing in problem you have with the Lycos sites.
