customsrus Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Custom chevelle built for my grandson. Grafted on a new Camaro top, used the interior, wheels and glass from the Camaro, I had to lengthen the Camaro chassis to fit the Chevelle wheel base. Used a burning sprue to get the marble effect on the stripes, Side stripes are hand cut before painting them..Used a flame mask on the back of the side stripes. Paint is Testors Diamond dust base coat with Tamiya Light blue metallic used on the side stripes, and then Tamiya clear blue over entire body and finally top coated with Clear gloss. You can see this build in the on the workbench during buildup. Thanks for looking and as always all comments are welcomed.
Dr. Cranky Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 It sure did, a nice keeper! Love the color! And the stance.
Greg Pugh Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I'm normally not one that digs these sort of things but I have to say......that is a really good looking car. It flows well and looks like it could kick some serious Mustang butt! Well done!! I'm sure your grandson will be tickled. (If not, pm me for my address. I'll be your grandson)
Cesar Bossolani Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Awesome graft job!! Do you have how-to graft pics to show us where you did cuts? Did you have used Revell Chevelle? Your grandson it's a lucky kid!! He'll receive a one-off 'Velle!! Cesar Edited November 12, 2011 by Cesar Bossolani
Sixties Sam Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 That looks really good! It's amazing how the Camaro roof changes the whole looks of the Chevelle. I like it! Sam
customsrus Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Thanks for all the comments guys. Now I have to get back to work on my next project.
W-409 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 This is really interesting concept. I like that Camaro top, it fits really nicely to Chevelle body shapes. Usually I don't like those big wheels, but they fit nicely to this. Just because this looks like concept and would be Chevrolet's car model on 2012. Great job with it, paintjob is amazing too. I like it.
Sinister_Kreationz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 very nice... i like builders who think outside the norm....Thats the only thing that keeps me building if its something thats been done i wont build it until i come up with a total different concept...But bravo on the job
Erik Smith Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Excellent work on the roof mods. Great looking car.
deathskull59 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 from the sides of the car it looks more like a plymouth cuda. or a plymouth duster but that is one cool looking chevelle.
