Junkman Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Unfortunately in 1:35 scale, for the people who think that bloody war didn't last long enough. It is a crying shame!
Rob Hall Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Looks like an interesting subject..too bad about the odd scale.
highway Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Unfortunately in 1:35 scale, for the people who think that bloody war didn't last long enough. It is a crying shame! Ok, explain this to me, what does war and scale have to do with each other?? If it's a subject you want to build, why should scale matter?
Dr. Cranky Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 That looks like a wonderful subject matter . . . and perhaps even a good place to start to rob some rat rod parts from.
Junkman Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Ok, explain this to me, what does war and scale have to do with each other?? If it's a subject you want to build, why should scale matter? Because 1:35 is military scale. And I do predominantly 1:25/24. That's why. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask.

highway Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Because 1:35 is military scale. And I do predominantly 1:25/24. That's why. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask. Wow, what narrowmindedness!! I'm sorry, but then I guess 1:16, 1:24, 1:32, 1:48, and 1:72 must be "military" scales too, since I have seen military subjects in all those scales. i get kind of hung up on scale too, prefer 1/24 and 1/25 over anything. however when it comes to an obscure subject like this i'd imagine you'd have to take it how you can get it and be happy that you've got it. there is some very cool stuff in 1/35 scale too Wow, now you get the idea!! That's just like this kit, it looks like an interesting break from the norm for my collection. It's not really my norm, but I'm all about getting subjects for a rainy day, and I wouldn't care what scale it comes in! I very rarely even look at the scale when I'm in a buying frenzy, if it catches my eye, it goes home!
Chuck Most Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Don't do much in that scale, but I might pick one up just 'cuz I like the car. If they do one in 1:24 or 1:25 scale, I'd pick up several of them. Just sayin'.
Rob Hall Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I've never built anything in 1:35th, but something like this would be fun because it's so different...would have to get a few 1:35ths to group 'em together. I've built mostly 1:24th-1:25th but have certainly dabbled in other scales when I've found the subject matter appealing (like 1:20th scale F1 cars)...
Chuck Most Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 The only 1:35 kit I have is the Revell Mercedes Lkw gl leicht "Wolf", which I plan to turn into a civilian-spec G-Wagen one of these days. There are actually quite a few cool car kits geared primarily toward Military modelers, but my only problem is if I get too many of them I'm going to need to start up a whole new display area in my hobby room for the things.
Edsel-Dan Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I like this too. It might not look too small with my 1/32 scale builds. Due to Quantity, I tend to stay at 1/24-1/25 or Smaller, though I do have a few of MPC's 1/20 scale Ford Econoline I too look to see what military can be converted to Civilian use. Like some trucks can be converted to Fire, or a Jeep made into a Small town Sherriff/Police!!

I plan to do the same thing, but with this kit:
62rebel Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 i stick to 1/24-1/25 mainly because i jut can't leave the kit alone.... i usually end up substituting parts to get what i want the end product to look like, and while those two scales can often look acceptable with swapped parts, i have nothing to use for 1/35 parts. add to that the remarkable difference between 1/35 and 1/32 and swapping between them is difficult. having said all that, if i could buy a kit in 1/35 that does not exist in "car" scale, i would use it as a template for scratchbuilding one. BTW... i have a hard enough time working in "car" scale.... that 1/35 stuff is getting harder to see!
Brett Barrow Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Looks like a re-box of ICM's kit out earlier this year. http://modelingmadne...s/icm/35471.htm There's been a slew of new-tool WWII-era 1/35 civilian/military cars the past couple of years - MiniArt's doing a Mercedes and Bronco has done several 1937 Opels, Tamiya did a Citroen... Edited November 15, 2011 by Brett Barrow
airb Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 It is a reboxed model from ICM, a company called Leadwarrior brings a nice ambulance conversion kit on that base
