Okay, here is the plan so far

Chassis and suspension - 1/24 Monogram Badman '55

Body and interior - 1/24 Revell 53 Chevy hardtop

Admittedly the 396 small block in the Badman is sub-par and the engine in the '53 is an inliner, so I need an idea of what kit might have an appropriate vintage chevy big block in 1/24 scale.

I'm trying to kick around some ideas. Thanks for the help.

Rob, get the old Monogram '70 Chevelle. It has a blown big block. The '66 Chevelle SS also has a nice BB Chevy with a tunnel ram intake with headers and side pipes.

Maybe for something different, you could use a small block?

Ack! There's no replacement for displacement. Thanks guys. I'll see what I can dig up.

A 409 would be cool Rob, but not sure if there are any in 1/24 though?

The 60 impala has a 348.....looks just like a 409

I think the '53 Panel came with a 409, but I'm not sure.

If I recall, the '39 Chevy sedan and sedan delivery came with pretty nice 427 BBCs with headers, scattersheilds, and a tunnel ram intake.

Guys, thanks very much. Your advice led me to remember a dual quad 396 from a 1/24 Revell 67 Chevelle that I have in my parts boxes. It's all good now.
