racerx24 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Finally finished my 53 ford Paint is model master artic blue pearl. But i am not happy with it even with the clear coat it still didnt come out shiny
Harry P. Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Where are the door handles? Next time, you might want to try and add foil to the chrome trim. It looks kind of odd that all the chrome trim around the windows and the wipers and sun visors are all painted body color.
racerx24 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 The handles fell off didnt get a chance to put them back on. As for the bmf i used it once years ago and it didnt work out right. The color was based on a photo of one that i found with all trim painted. I thought about redoing it
Chuck Most Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I'm working on this same kit, in a similar color even! I'd say that open trunk needs some 'stuff' in it... maybe a cooler or a spare tire. The best part about opening a trunk is putting stuff back there!
Jantrix Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 As for the bmf i used it once years ago and it didnt work out right. Bare Metal Foil has a shelf life. Order some direct from the manufacturer for best results. It is tricky to use, and takes practice. You just can't build a classic car without it.

Give it another try... you'll get the hang of it, and you'll love the way your models look.
Greg Pugh Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 It takes a little while to get comfortable with but it's definitely one of those things you'll question how you ever made it without it once you're up and going. It makes or breaks a model.
Danno Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Yikes!! That blue and red is a sensory clash of the first order!
