Chuck Most Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) Well- they shouldn't be black anyway- foiling them would probably be better. I think the best solution would be to foil them, then paint the edges flat black. (Note- this is a lower-price Pacemaker model, so it does not have the bright windsheild and backlight surrounds the Hornet does- this car is also a '51) Edited November 28, 2011 by Chuck Most
Skydime Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 This thing actually looks like some kid found it out in a field, rattle canned the paint, dropped in a motor, and decided to take a sawsall to the top one Saturday night. Great job Chuck!
Erik Smith Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Hey Chuck, isn't that car more of a "Yellowjacket" than a Hornet now with that paint job??? Cool, cool build. Nice work. A hornet can also have stripes, similar to your "standard" Yellow Jacket. In fact, some hornets look very much like the wasp most people associate with the name Yellow Jacket, and often times the two are easily confused. Now, my favorite member of the Vespidae family is the Bald-Faced hornet (black with a white face). I have seen one bite the head off of a Yellow Jacket and take the body back to its nest. Oh, yes...Nice model.
Wayne Buck Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 ...a yellowjacket is a wasp, and a hornet is a wasp, but a hornet is not a yellowjacket. Reminds me of one of those "IQ test" questions... This is one TRULY BADASS Hornet, Chuck!!! Love it, love it, LOVE IT!! Came out AWESOME.... GREAT job!
