Funniest thing are the people who seem to put more money in the stereo than the car itself...seen many worn out junkers w/ loud sound systems...what's the point?

In high school a guy had a junked out Beretta with a killer stereo- basically the entire trunk was filled with 12" subs. Best part was the old gym sock stuffed in between the trunk's inner bracing and outer sheetmetal skin to prevent the decklid from buzzing. Said the system was about two grand- the car couldn't have been much more than $200 as scrap.

I saw one of these idiots walking down my street awhile back, from the privacy of my darkened home with shades drawn. It was so funny seeing him walk when he thought no one was watching! Knock-kneed, pigeon toed, with a hand grabbing the back of his pants. When he rounded the corner, he got a hitch in his get-along, sorta like Walter Brennan in the Real McCoys. I had a friend that walked like that only when he was in public. I asked him why, and he ignored me. And there is a stereo company in my town that advertises those behind-the-grille speakers. I think I need to move........

I knew someone in high school that had something like that...a worn out, rusty '78-79 Regal with about a $2000 (1988 dollars) sound system...massive subs, etc.

A bit unrelated, but a guy I used to work with had a '79 Regal with the aftermarket 6x9s just sitting on top of the rear window shelf (wired, but not actually mounted within the panel) and a hardware store slide latch to keep the driver's side door closed. Anybody want a free pair of Memphis 6x9 speakers?
