'08SEAL Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Theres not a HEMI in that Revel 32 5-Window....... http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-4228.pdf Look at that..... Thats not a HEMI its a ford Highboy....If it was a hemi it would say on the instructions,"HEMI ENGINE ASSEMBLY"
Dr. Cranky Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Gee, those instructions make me want to get going on the four I've got in progress. LOL!
Sam Cates Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Actually, it is a "Hemi," the highboy engine assembly reffers to the car itself. A '32 or "Deuce" highboy is a car with no fenders. The Coupe engine assembly reffers to the option to build the car with fenders. So, the car is a "highboy" with a Hemi, or a coupe with a 302.

They probably dodged (ha ha) calling it a Hemi for trademark reasons.
Craig Irwin Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Don't call it a HEMI = don't pay Chrysler royalties. If you look at it, you know what it is.
Jantrix Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 It absolutely IS a hemi. A highboy is the style of the vehicle like Sam said. More specifically - a fenderless rod that is sitting on top of the chassis (not channeled).

I always thought the 'Hi-boy' reference was to designate that the car, in addition to being 'fenderless', sat ON TOP of the frame, not channeled over it. Channelled versions were nicknamed 'Lo-boys'. Have I been mislead?
