One of our forum brothers who lives in Finland or somewheres nears there(sweden?)Has a resin casting company that I THINK casts that little blue one,I THINK. I can't remember his name though. Maybe one of the guys will. Guys? :)

Be ready when you do find a P1800 in resin (and yes it was one of our Finnish/Swede brothers who either cast it or had info on the cast). It goes for above $100 USD and still needs a lot of clean-up and a donor chassis/drivetrain once it gets to you.

Juha Airio and Tapani Rauramo cast these, and I've heard, that they are good quality. I have one (damaged body, it was cheap) and that's pretty good too. And these look very good when they are built.

These pictures show, that it's possible to build nice model from AirTrax kits.

I have the Volvo P1800 from Airtrax, and yes they do require cleanup before beginning. They're certainly not for the novice!

Here are a couple shots of the body................

The rest of the kit can be seen here.

I'd like to someday duplicate the 1:1 '65 I had years ago.............that was a FUN car! :D

thank you for the replies but i think resins going to be a bit out of my league

Don't be afraid, it's easier than it looks from the pictures. Start with a really good one, like a Modelhaus, to get a 'feel' for it. The rest will just fall into place. In fact, Resin has quite a few advantages over styrene.

Scott, aside from the cost, resin's no harder to work with than plastic. Just a different media. It ONLY glues with Epoxy or superglue, so you'll need that, but other than that, there's really no difference. AND you'll find ALL kindsa cool off the wall stuff being cast, ALOT of it is of VERY good quality, just stck with the better well known casters. Ask here, the guys can turn you on to ALL kinds of cool stuff and REPUTABLE resin casters. Check it out, you'll be very suprised at what's being offered. :D:);)

thanks for the encouragement

i havent picked up a kit in around 15 years and was looking to try my hand at it again this winter

between restocking all my bottle paints which im sure have dried out by now and new foils glues and whatnot the price of a resin kit is going to be a concern

not to mention the fact im a little hesitant to jump back in by switching to a medium ive never worked with

perhaps after i get a few new kits built ill take the jump into resin

thanks
