bandit1 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 ok ..how about something along the lines of an late 70's early 80's 2 tone paint.? stepside fleetside
diymirage Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 i like the idea on the stepside (this will have a stepside ford bed on it) maybe i could fade the paneling a bit to make it looks like it was actually applied in the mid 70s what else have we got ?
gray07 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 There looking great, iam going to start on mine tomorrow.
Devilsnake98 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I've got a couple little trucks that would belong here that I'd like to share. 1st, I just built this one over the holidays for something quick to pass the time. Hasegowa Toyota Hilux, it's completely OOB and painted Testors Ford Grabber Blue.
Devilsnake98 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 2nd is the AMT Chevy S10 Extreme. I did a 98 Corvette LS1 engine swap, painted 2 tone Black and Bright yellow buried in clear coat, lowered the stance, added the Corvette wheels, tires, seats, and steering wheel. Also put a fuel cell in the bed, moved the battery to the bed, and made a tonneu cover. I've had this built for a while but it needed a home, thanks for looking.
Fabrux Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Not to be a stick-in-the-mud, but that J-10 up there is actually a full size truck... I'll jump in on this one. I'm currently working on a 78 Courier body on a 94 Ranger chassis. Motorvation is provided by a FI 5.0L from a Mustang kit of some sort (parts bin). These pictures are from when I first started; the body has been stripped of paint and bodywork has begun (it was an old build of miine):
bandit1 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 UH OH!...it looks like im falling behind....theres already some that is completed!....UH OH!
Fabrux Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) Let's get going! It doesn't look like much has been accomplished but it has! I've stripped the paint, cleaned up the body, swapped the driver's side bed fender for a passenger side fender from a spare to get rid of the fuel door, fitted the engine (went with the 5.0L), built a firewall and radiator support, built a tailgate... phew! Its ready for some paint now. Just to give you an idea of just how small the Courier is compared to the Ranger/Explorer, the rear bench for an Explorer is the perfect size for the Courier. diymirage Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 looks good i slung some paint on mine the other day and the bed is settling onto the chassis as we speak its a little bit doglimping but i think thats perfect for this type of build its nice to see how the 440 fills in that engine bay compared to that 350 boatanchor that came with it
gray07 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 Heres an update on my nissan, i got the interier done.
Skydime Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) I wish I had better scratch building skills. I would get an 80's Dodge Daytona kit and build a Plymouth Scamp/Turismo. I'm sure it would qualify as a mini truck. Edited January 13, 2012 by Skydime
gray07 Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) A little update, i got the frame and suspention done. Edited January 16, 2012 by gray07
Jared Roach Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hey guys do you mind if I join in on this? I got a monogram s10 I just started.
gray07 Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Nope, you are joined, just post build pictures.
Jared Roach Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 cool thanks man. I will once I get home from work.
Jared Roach Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) So This is what I got so far. I got the chassis painted and the front and rear suspension on it. Hopefully near the end of the month I can get some good progress done on it. Edited January 18, 2012 by Jared Roach
gray07 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) The mini truck build has slowed way down. Not many people posting any more. Edited February 1, 2012 by gray07
Olskoolrodder Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Some of us just found it thanks to your posting and "View New Content" IF I can drag me out of this current slump,I'd like to get in on it
