Maindrian Pace Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 This is an AAM dually bed and wheels they offered way back when, long out of production. Does anyone know what the tires are? Does Ma's Resin have them? -MJS
mikemodeler Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Those appear to be copies of the wheels, tires and bed from the Monogram Ford F350 dually kit. The Modelhaus or Ma's Resins can probably get you the tires if that is what you are looking for.
Maindrian Pace Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 It's actually an AMT 1:25 bed with Monogram 1:24 fenders to turn the AMT truck into a duallie. The wheels are from the Monogram kit, but the tires are completely different; they look like nice 6 or 8 ply truck tires, and I could use seven for a project of mine. -MJS
Chuck Most Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I think Modelhaus sells a set of 1-ton truck tires like that, or something similar in tread/sidewall design.
mikemodeler Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 The Modelhaus wheel and tire set came from the 92 AMT ext. cab duallie kit with Goodyear Wrangler tires. Part No. is T-802 and sells for $13.00 set for the unplated type and T-802P ($15.00) for the plated type.
sstacey47 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 You might check with ryan silva on here he casts all kinds of truck wheels and tires.Sean
Ben Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Those tires are direct copies of the vinyl tires that come in the AMT Snap Fast semi truck kits. There was a Ford CL9000, a Ford LTL9000, Kenworth W900 Aerodyne conventional, a reefer trailer, a van trailer, a Mack Superliner and a Mack Superliner wrecker. All of these kits featured these tires.
Maindrian Pace Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks Ben, I think I know where a few of those are. -MJS
Art Anderson Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 This is an AAM dually bed and wheels they offered way back when, long out of production. Does anyone know what the tires are? Does Ma's Resin have them? -MJS OK, I'm the one who produced that dually Ford bed, for the AMT '92 Ford pickup kits. The dually Fenders were cut from the Monogram '91 F-350 Duallie, and grafted to the AMT Box. The wheels were taken from the Monogram F-350, but I wanted more industrial truck tires for the conversion--they came from one of the Lesney/AMT 1/32 Scale Ford L-series COE tractors (made one time, in 1980-81), and are Goodyear OTR truck tires, which fit the 1/24 scale Monogram wheels like they were made for them. Hope this helps! Art Anderson
Maindrian Pace Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Well darn, Art, I wish you still made those tires. And all the other cool stuff you had too. -MJS
Art Anderson Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Well darn, Art, I wish you still made those tires. And all the other cool stuff you had too. -MJS What's funny was: Back in 1991/92, it seemed as though EVERYBODY was clamoring for duallie this, duallie that, crew cab this, and crewcab that. So, I obliged, mastered a 90 Chevy C3500 crew cab dually, and the '92 Ford in the same ilk. However, the result was less than spectacular--the Chevy parts made it to a second set of molds. The Ford F350? Perhaps 30 or 35 transkits. Pretty disappointing. Art
Porky Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Hey Art,, I think the market would be better for the parts now if they were offered again,,,I also know a caster that would be interested in doing it,,,hint, hint,,,,lol,,,

Us pickup & 4x4 builders need lots of items...73-87 GM longbed, 60-66 GM longbed (for Revell 64-65 kits), a proper longbed for AMT/Model King 79 Ford, 70s Dodge longbed for the Lil Red Express to name but a few...

I’d love to find a club cab cab, interior, and chassis. I’m wanting to do a model of a ‘97 Ram Club Cab 3500.

Accu Pro?- that is since out of business. 3. Check out Too Many Projects on FB, he has a lot of Dodge trucks, might have what you are looking for.

I got rid of my Facebook account two years ago. I do have all of the parts needed to build my own club cab, but still keeping half an eye out for a resin one. I’d love to get my hands on a ‘81 to ‘85 Dodge Ram crew cab long box to build up. But I’m thinking I might have to get two of the ‘78 AMT/MPC Dodge trucks and go from there.

He also sells on eBay under the name modelerrob. Here's his 85 Dodge Extended Cab I grabbed from him. Comes with your choice of long or short beds.

I’m going to have to reach him through eBay, if not and see about getting a couple trucks ordered.
