Hippie Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 (edited) This was a Christmas gift for my grandpa for those of you who fallowed the WIP you already know the story, but basically this is a replica of the first car he and my grandma bought together. In the 11th hour the project direction changed due to a lack of chrome foil. So instead of a exact replica i built a inspired car. His brothers and him built (build) race cars to this day and I replicated this as something they got a hold of. thanks for looking Edited December 28, 2011 by Hippie
Dirkpitt289 Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 All the detail in the engine compartment is amazing. Well done.
PARTSMARTY Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 fabulous detailing-very very clean look!
rmvw guy Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 That's what I'm talking about! Nice detail work on the engine. More! More! More!
bbowser Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Another for the engine bay, great work! Hubcaps on a race car?
JustBill Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 The time spent on the engine bay detail is well worth it! Very nice man!!
Harry P. Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Ok... explain the break line between the body and roof colors.
Hippie Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Thanks everyone. The paint line was done on purpose. It was a bad attempt to show my grandpa's lack of care for looks and that he cared much more about performance, Which again is kinda ironic considering its mostly a stock motor. To be honest I kinda regret it now but the cars already in a display case.
62rebel Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 warts and all! nice build! were you stuck with one-piece wheels, which is why there's wheel covers? most sanctioned events would have made the driver take them off as a safety hazard. cool looking model, whatever the reason.
Janne Herajärvi Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Engine looks great. Very nice details
deathskull59 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 yeah what he said that is a cool model.
