Mr. Moparman Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I am interested to see if anybody has one of these kits.
Harry P. Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Are you looking for information on the kit or photos of finished models?
VW Dave Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 I've got 2 of those kits, and both are slated to become replicas of the same car...a junker one for my friend Tom's railroad layout, and a nicer one for Mark(the real car's owner): (....yeah, it's got a Hemi )
Casey Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 It's pretty much the Duke's '69 Charger, with the Charger 500 specific parts added- flush rear window on the body shell, flush grille, etc. So basically, not a great kit.
Guest Sickfish Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Yep... Got both the original & re-issue. Not a very good kit at all... Would take up plenty of bench time to make a good 500 out of it. It's a combination of the Dukes ( as stated ) & the Daytona kit. Cheers, Cliffo.
Guest Sickfish Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) Here's some pics... Both kits... Original MPC kit on top, re-issue below. MPC parts... AMT re-issue... Has a combination of the F'n'F & Daytona kits ( amt ) Cheers, Cliffo. Edited January 1, 2012 by Sickfish
Mr. Moparman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Ok would it be possible to bash the AMT '69 GTX running gear with this?
Sport Suburban Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) I also have both of the issues. I built the reissue and it has the wrong hood. It has the Daytona hood. The MPC kit has the correct 69 Charger hood. Also the original has 500 on the tail panel but it is shallow. Also the reissue's box are has the 69 GTX chassis under it but it's not in the box. I'm sure it will fit fine under the MPC body as I have done that many times just not with this kit yet. Here is one I built right out of the box of the reissue. This is after lot's of work and adding wheel opening moldings. They are missing on the front wheels. Also the wheels and tires came from my parts box. Edited January 1, 2012 by Sport Suburban
Ken#5fan Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 You can use the 69 GTX or the AMT 68 Roadrunner. Even though this kit is not that great, I am going to build it as the Charger 500 and Daytona. Mine will be NASCAR versions.

Sport Suburban Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Thanks. I'm looking foward to seeing yours. That should work out real nice. I have another Charger 500 that I started by grafting the Revell 69 Charger front end onto the Revell 69 Daytona body.
