Front end came out great. Nice trick with the insulation. I'm totally stealing that.

Go ahead Glu. Nothing is proprietary on my builds. I'm glad to share and help others as I have learned so much here as well. Edited by gasser59

Thanks Robert. I was really striving for this particular stance with the straight axle. The kit came with an I beam dropped axle and sat too low for me.

Everything has stalled for the moment on this build as well as my Fiat altered because a couple of f***ing bozos broke into my garage and stole my airbrushing compressor along with a bunch of tools including my DeWalt compound miter saw. I can't seem to get anything done either on the bench or in the garage. This is so frustrating. What makes a thief believe he has the right to take another person's stuff? A thief is at the top of my list for a**holes.

Brad.... I am so sorry to hear this man. this sucks. I just dont get why people can't have respect for other peoples property anymore. people need to treat others the way they want to.be treated and have respect for.other peoples property. You are more than welcome to use my airbrush.

A bit more progress over the last couple of days. Front axle is done, the chassis is painted and the Cragars and some of the engine components have gotten a shot of Alclad. I changed all of the tires and am happy with these. The pie crusts were too short for the ride height. Still deciding on an injection system. May go with the Enderle as shown here but it seems a bit out of scale. Its sitting upside down for the picture.

As always, comments welcome and thanks for following along.

A bit of work done on this one. Built aluminum tubing shocks on all corners and changed out the Olds engine for a 392 hemi. I just can't seem to build a drag car without a hemi in it. I'll have some progress pix to share later this weekend.

Brad.... I can't wait to see pics of the progress bud. I know its gonna be killer. You have done a heck of a job so far on this build. I am glad to hear that you are back at this one.

sorry to hear about your misfortune Brad, wouldnt you love to catch someone breakin in, ( probably would't be a good thing) hope you get things sorted out soon so you can make some more progress on the awesome builds, again good luck with everything!

OK, couple of pix to show but not much progress on this. Was planning on putting in a full night but just got called into work to cover for a sick employee.

Thanks guys. Rom - I'll just do that and we'll see what happens although I'm the store manager so I'd have to tell myself. Not sure how I'd take it. LOL

Progress is slow on this build since the weather has been so nice. Here in the desert, spring is here and gone before you know it and then its too hot to do anything outside except swim.

Anyway, here's a picture showing the injector plumbing and the bracket for the idler pulley. A bit of the paint wore off so that will need some touch up. Although they can't be seen in this photo, the front of the intake manifold has the back fire valves fitted with Scale Hardware 0.5 screws and hand wound springs. I'll try to get a picture of those later.

Next up is to make a magneto and get the plug wires done.

OK, here's that pic of the manifold back fire valves as mentioned above. The photo is just a bit dark but I think you get the idea. Also a pic of the redone magneto. I used a piece of radio antenna tubing for this as it has the rolled edge at the bottom and its chrome and works better in this instance than aluminum tubing.
