Brad, just went through this build but the first couple pages didn't show any photos. That sucked. I COULDN'T SEE WHAT YOU WERE DOING !! So I forwarded to the last page and voila, a great looking weathered build. I'm looking forward to what's next.

Thanks for checking this build out guys. It's really appreciated.

Had some extensive build time over the weekend and got the head and tail lights on and weathered a bit. I realized late Saturday that I never thought about the hood so far. Had to find on and make minor sanding adjustments to get it to fit right. It got two coats of flat red and matching weathering. Underside will get flat black with some weathering too. Next up is working on the windows. Still to do is to do a tow rope hookup in the front, a rear pipe push bumper and a bit of weathering of the chassis. Painted a helmet for the interior last night and it will need some detailing and a chin strap + buckle. Also need to finish the bed cover.

'm hoping to get this done by Friday. We'll see.

Thanks Dave's. Its getting closer to the finish line. There's a small model contest at Hobby Bench, one of the LHS, this weekend and I'm trying to get it done for that. It will be close.

I was finally able to get some bench time in last night after the busy weekend. I used a portion of a telescoping radio antenna for the rear bumper and some aluminum printing plate for the bracket. Here's a couple of pictures.

Thanks for following along on this build. I know its been a long haul.

Thanks Chris. That will be at DSC next month.

Got all of the windows in but the rear which I'm still trying to get to fit. I used thick clear acetate from one of my grandson's birthday presents. Driver's side is partially down and the passenger side has the class number painted with flat white enamel to represent white show polish. This is the second front window as the black trim on the first one was blotchy from painting by hand. I masked this second one with a relatively new masking film made by TruColor paints. I got the windscreen installed and wouldn't you know it, I got glue on it when I was gluing in the passenger side. Luckily, I had a third clear windshield in my stash. Its all painted up and ready for install but I'll be danged, I can't get the second one out. May just leave it.

Onto the pics.

Work continues, stay tuned.

Thanks Danno. Not much left to do to call this one complete. I can't believe I started this thread in January of 2012. Wow!! 7 years is a loooong time for a build to get done.

It's the little things Brad that make a build.  That bumper & bracket DID turn out cool and I especially like the driver's window you installed half way up.............very creative.  cheers

Thanks so much Dave. It needed something back there.

Will we be able to hook up at DSC this year?

I am hoping to be there with a couple model to enter...might not be able to stay all day...we have the twin grand daughters to watch that weekend so I might have to drop off hang for a bit and then come back towards the end. to long of a day to keep them out of things!

Had a busy weekend and not much bench time. I was able to apply some black fabric to the bed cover late Saturday night. Truthfully, I liked it better without it so now I need to make another bed cover. I like the idea of it covered in fabric but the piece of a black graduation gown just wasn't cutting it. A bad decision in the middle of a sleepless night. I think I'll try to find a much tighter weave material without any sheen to it.
