gasser59 Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 Thanks RD. Those remaining days will go fast especially since i still have work to do. I still have to get the 1/32nd scale Fiat done too.
Codi Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 To all of you members attending the DSC, have a great time. That is one show I'd like to attend some day. Always a good turn out with quality builds & be sure to post pics as soon as you can. cheers
gasser59 Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks for your comments Tim. I'm looking forward to getting together with a few builder buds from the Plastic Posse on Friday night before DSC on Saturday. One day you'll need to make it.
Danno Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Thanks Danno. Not much left to do to call this one complete. I can't believe I started this thread in January of 2012. Wow!! 7 years is a loooong time for a build to get done. Glad your modeling skills and artistry are better than your math skills, my friend! 2012 to 2017 does not equal 7 years. LOL. It may seem like 7 years . . . (Either way, it's gonna look good on the table near one of those NEW category markers!)
gasser59 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Yeah, I never claimed to be a math major. Got all of the aluminum sheeting on the underside of the chassis. Still a bit to do yet but getting closer. Gotta get a parachute or at least the pulled chute remains.
Codi Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I like way you did that Brad.....nice and seamless, tight fit all the way around. Takes a bunch of effort to get that to look like that, nice job. cheers, tim
gasser59 Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Thanks Tim. Yes, it was a tight fit. Test, trim, test again, trim some more, test fit again, sand, repeat....
gasser59 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 Have been working on the parachute. Went to a fabric remnant store and picked up a piece. Made a plastic shape, have been covering it with fabric and folding over the material for the outside. Still working out where the lines will be mounted.
gasser59 Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) Was able to get the chute put together along with a printing plate base. Worked on the chute pull cord hole this morning. Took a quick picture with my phone on the way out the door this morning so the pic isn't that good. DSC is Saturday and still a few items to button up. I'm confident I can get these done in time. Randy D Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Just superb work!!!! Man you are getting close Brad Randy
gasser59 Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 Thanks RD!! I think I can finally call this one done. I'll get some pictures tonight.
gasser59 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Took one pic this morning before heading into work. I'll post more of the finished build in the Under Glass thread after DSC this Saturday. Edited April 7, 2017 by gasser59
gasser59 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Some of the later pictures in this thread are not showing because PhotoBucket seems to have lost them. They're not in my 'bucket.' I've added them back in but of course the link is different and this forum won't let me edit my older posts that have photo links in them. I'll post a few of them back here in the thread but the comments won't accompany the pics this time. Dang PhotoBucket.
Art Laski Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Looking good, Brad! I'm looking forward to seeing this Saturday!

gasser59 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Here's a couple of pictures to get you caught up with where I'm currently at with this build. Now if PhotoBucket will just cooperate. Edited April 7, 2017 by gasser59
comp1839 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 this just keeps getting better and better. GOOD LUCK saturday!
Codi Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Like Dave said Brad........"GOOD LUCK" and more importantly, have FUN! cheers, tim
gasser59 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) DSC XIII is in the books and I certainly did have alot of fun hanging out with some great builders and gazing at some awesome builds. Here's the Willys as it sat on the table. It took home second place in the Nostalgia Drag category plus the coveted Tim Pentecost Nostalgia Drag Master Class trophy. Edited July 22, 2017 by gasser59
Greg Myers Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Let me be the first to congratulate you here. Good job. Edited April 9, 2017 by Greg Myers
