Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum. I have been wondering if anyone out there is or has released a Mack Granite resin cab in 1/24-25 scale? I know that Tim Sherman had a "friend that was working on one" a few years ago, but have never heard anything else about it... I look forward to learning and contributing here. Thanks.

welcome dave...i think gary from gw trucks offers a granite

Gary, does not offer the "Granite" no one at this time has one of these to offer....

The closest you will find is the Mack CH , once done by Tim Sherman, now being offer by Eric (Porky's)

Kurt,

Sadly - thanks for the bad news :( I like the look of the Titan as well! Come on guys, aren't there any of you who are gifted with sculpting abilities!(LOL)? I unfortunately do not posess the "sculpting gene"... Anyone else interested in a newer Mack cab? I think that if some of the resin casters knew that there was enough interest, it might help to bring one to fruition. If there IS anything that I can do to assist in this effort, please let me know :D . Thanks.

Like many modelers I would like a granite as well. To be honest, I would like to have more 'new' trucks instead of the 'old' AMT releases. Don't get me wrong, I love the model and to build them but a KW T2000 also do. Resin or complete kit doesn't matter.

There is still a good market for the vintage AMT, Revell, Italeri kits, I know I like the classics myself. But there definitely is one for new subjects too. Too bad Italeri is out of Volvos but they should re-engineer them (670-780) into a more detailed (engined, opening hood, steerable axle...)unit. Maybe retool the 378 long hauler into a real 389. Why? Why not? Pete's are real popular whatever the model, just make us feel like they "care".

That (north american) Mack Titan and the Granite would sell really well with the truck builders. I'd like to know how well the kits do in the outside world, i.e. do the kids build these as we used to?

Anyway, I hope not only Moebius steps up to this game but the other "big" ones too. Personally,I'll buy anything that is up to date even if don't build them right away. I'll be getting in line for the Prostar and the Great Dane reefer before they come out, I'll be getting in line for a Mack Titan as well with a detachable lowboy, maybe?

For those of you with a good eye: What would be a good starting point for a Granite or Titan? How would you approach it? Any ideas? Oh, and one final question. How do I set up my posts to receive an e-mail notification of replies? Thanks.

Hey Guys,,,I have sent one of the CH / CL cabs to a guy to try to build up a Granite hood to fit it for me to cast. Keep your fingers crossed,,,

Don't get me wrong. I like the reissues from AMT as well. Just would like something more modern. I agree, I would by a lot of stuff to let the market know I appreciate the fact they bring new stuff.

As for a detachable.... I would like to know how these things work in the US. Here in Europe the coupling system is quite different with the US trailers. If anyone could help me with detailed information about the trailers...

Thanks, Hessel

hessel i put some pictures in the 1;1 section of the ones i pull there under detachable gooseneck. as far as the us detachables there basicly hydralics and pins the hydralics run off a pto on the tractor and some trailers had what you call a pony motor mounted on them to run the hydralics.the pony motor was basicly a small motor like a 3 or 4 HP. mounted right on the goose neck. if you need some specific pictures let me know. i'll take them monday.
