moparmagiclives Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Passing over this tread a few times, I did'nt give it much thought because I didnt have alot of thread tites for you. But after noticing all the replys I figured I better check it out and see what everyone else had for ya. Guess I didnt realize what this was about. I understand what your getting at, but dont forget that people from all age groups as well as comfort levels on a key board pass over these pages. Not everyone knows what to ask for untill someone offers to help.
wgflatliner Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I hear ya. I label my threads so it isn't confusing to me. But somebody else might feel that being vague might get more replies.

Qwit Pushin Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 OK, I'll reveal my computer illiteracy. How do 'tags' and 'keywords' work exactly? I've seen them but don't know what to do with them (if anything). Tags and keywords are just added info that provide more detail for the search engine. When you do a search, the search engine will search for titles but will also look for any added key words or tags. And, if you review the titles on this forum, you'll see that those who've included tags and keywords have them show up in smaller print just below the topic title. Always a good idea to include them.

sjordan2 Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Tags and keywords are mostly helpful when you're searching the Web overall, starting from Google, Bing, etc. Here on this specific site, not so much, and our users (including me) are not going to mess with that. But our site search function is not great. Edited January 16, 2012 by sjordan2
bbowser Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Thanks Mike, makes sense once it's explained. I learn something everyday (whether I want to or not )
