Mr. Moparman Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 We've been having problems with our internet connection being abruptly cut off and coming back on for two or three weeks. Every time this happens, a thing pops up saying there was a problem with the communication between our computer and ATT's. A few minutes later, a thing will pop up and say that the problem has been resolved. Anybody else with this problem?
Draggon Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I had a lot of problems for awhile, Im not sure if mine are the same as yours. Sometimes I got internet for weeks, then for several days I would get booted off 6 or 10 times. The trouble ended up being the wires from my house to the ATT box on our street. Guy told me the wires were getting old and "switched" them. Originally I had a Motorola modem supplied by ATT and it wasnt so good. I have a netgear wireless router and so far it is OK. There is also some problem with ATT Yahoo not being 64 bit compliant, but I dont know if that has been resolved. My problem could also have been a defective power supply in my computer. I recently had it replaced and the computer works better than new. I hope this helps.
Casey Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 We had lots of problems with AT&T when we used them as an ISP. Two weeks with no 'net access twice, no problems from the box to the inside....happily, we no longer use AT&T.
Kris Morgan Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 We hve never had AT&T ourselves but, I know abour 4-5 people that had it in the past. I say had because, none of them where happy with the service.
MikeMc Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Had them for years on dialup. never any problems. With DSL if you are too far away from where its sent from....your problems are the norm. call ATT and find out how far away from them you are....you can't boost DSL signals.....
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 The problem is you have AT&t, , I have never heard anything good about any part of them,
Guest Johnny Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Never had an isse with them in 6.5 years1 Only changed to Comcast because I could not get stand alone AT&T internet in my area.
