Hypermung Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Ok Fellas...Here's the go. Just found my 'Holy Grail' of kits on ebay but (of course) no international postage. Does anyone (in the US) want to bid on a kit for me, then forward it to me in Australia? I will of course pay for everything, & you can earn a 'brokerage fee' in the process. It goes off tomorrow 18th @ 09:54:41 PST & the item # is 300650725257 in case my link don't workhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300650725257&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en. I don't want to start a bidding war between y'all, just someone who will be home tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance Guys. Glenn
Kris Morgan Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Have you asked the seller if he/she will ship international? I understand that is says no international shipping. However with 0 bids at this time if you explain you are willing to pay for the additional shipping, they may consider it.
LDO Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I won't bid on it, but if you win it, I can ship it for you.
Hypermung Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 I can't bid @ all 'cause ebay wont accept a bid from outside the US, & it states @ the bottom of the listing 'No International postage'.... When someone underlines a statement they generally adhere to it. Thanks for the offer of help Jonathan, I'll PM you now.
Elliot949 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Anmybody that bids on this item for you is in violation of Ebays TOS... If the seller gets wind of it, it could be a suspension of both involved in the transaction... I am one of those that will not ship international... I have my reasons and don't discuss them but I would be VERY upset if I discovered this had happened...

If somebody else buys it, gets the kit and ships it to Australia, why would you care? If somebody bids on it, wins it, and then tells the seller to ship it to so and so in Australia, yes, but I don't think that's the case here.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I dont either when i sell on ebay, the last phone i sold on ebay was bought by someone outside of the counrty, but had someone from the states pay for it and shipped . I am sorry you dont agree with him wanting help , or me helping him, and it doesnt mean its going to happen, the kit still has to be won.
martinfan5 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) What is happing is i will buy the kit, have it shipped to me, then i will ship it to him, so if thats breaking the rules then they must have rules of what you can do with something after you buy it. How would they know its not bought as a gift for some one? Its somewhat on the same lines as buying something for some one that doesnt have a Credit card or debit card, or paypal or what have you. Hypothetically If I was to buy this from you and then decided to ship it off to Australia or China or other parts unknown why would this upset you?
VW Dave Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Ask the seller if you can bid and have them ship to a US address if you win it...then have your yank mate mail the item to you at your expense. If they'll go for that, I'd be glad to help. Email me: plasticman1432@gmail.com
Hypermung Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Ask the seller if you can bid and have them ship to a US address if you win it.. ..... Thanks for that Dave & all you others that have offered to help me. I didn't mean to start an arguement, but the reason I need help is that I can't even bid on it. If the seller checks the box that says 'Sell to US only' then if I try & bid it's blocked by ebay. Only a US ebay registered email address will be able to bid. The item will be posted by the seller to a US address so how does this violate ebays policy? What the 'Buyer' decides to do with it after that has nothing to do with ebay or the seller.

Darin Bastedo Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 haha, I want to see where it says this. It doesn't. no where does it say that you cannot bid for someone else and ship it to them. I do it all the time, it's called Christmas shopping.
Mike Kucaba Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 "It doesn't. no where does it say that you cannot bid for someone else and ship it to them. I do it all the time, it's called Christmas shopping." :D GOOD ONE :D
Wagoneer81 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I've done similar things.... I'll get a call or a visit from a friend who doesn't have a PayPal account who wants something on eBay... It's reaally easy, I buy it, have it sent to me, he then buys it off of me. No worries. I hope this works out for you! Cheers! Chris

Fortunately there are still reasonable people prepared to send to us poor unfortunates who happen to live outside the US. {edit} I sincerely hope with that attitude that you never buy anything from outside the United States? Well, eh...too bad That is the best thing of the internet, we have now friends all over the world. And sometimes it is hard to get something from eBay, due to people that for some unreasonable reasons, don't ship overseas. Fortunately, we have friends all over the USA, that buy for us and kindly kick it out of the country. Why would you be upset at all, that if somebody bought a kit, shipped it to their USA home and then pass it on to their friends? Isn't it their business, something you don't have anything to say about at all?

Kris Morgan Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I thought maybe if asked the seller would work with you. I think some seller avoid international shipping due to possible confusion when it comes to shipping costs. I require that international customers ask before bidding so I can give them a proper shipping quote. In all honesty, I feel bad for you guys when it comes to what I have to charge for shipping. It is out of my hands though.
The Creative Explorer Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Shippingcharges were ok till mid 2007, then USPS decided to cancel International Surface Mail, everything had to go by airmail. But nowadays with the weaker Euro, the costs are not that interesting no more, only if you ship in bulk.

And, Why won't you discuss your reasons?????????????????? If you have valid reasons and feel so strongly about proper EBay procedure (according to you), then surely you will back up your reasons with facts. CadillacPat
Erik Smith Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I just remembered - there I a company out of LA (I think) that bids on items for customers in Japan. They get all shipments to LA then forward to Japan. I sold a couple kits to the company. It is not against eBay policy.
martinfan5 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I find it funny how the person who said it was a no no to do this has not come back and said a word
