I've looked online , but haven't found any 69 road runners. Anyone know if it was ever kited? Still available? I would like to build one for a coworker who's husband has the real thing but probly won't get to restore it.

The johan kit is a nice one. it can be built up pretty good.

I built one a long, long, long time ago. and put the wrong year hood treatment on it, too.

(I owned a '68, and was trying to replicate it....LOL.)

How much of a difference from the 68 to 69 ?

Different grilles, different taillights. Different enough that if you want to be accurate you can't fake a 69 with a 68 or vice versa.

Do a google search and you'll see...

Useing the AMT Mopar Chassis on the JoHan kit is the ONLY way to go. It lets the rest of the model shine as it should! The body is spot on on the Johan kit, but it's 69 design chassis is the pits. Useing the newer chassis brings it into the 21st century. Makes for a GREAT lookin model! :D:);)

Get the AMT Road Runner GTX as a chassis donor if you want bucket seats, the '68 Road Runner if you want a bench seat- the GTX also comes with a 440 engine and your choice of 4 or 6 barrel carburetion if you don't want to build a Hemi

Sand the GTX emblems off the AMT 69 GTX. It was mostly trim diffrences anyway.
