Qwit Pushin Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 My God, what I wouldn't give for that workspace!!! I make do with 5' x 8' room I built out in my garage.
Jeff Johnston Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I have actually the room for a hobby area but for some reason I prefer to build in the kitchen....someday i will take over the basement room for my hobby area, once the kids have flown the coop. This is my set up at the kitchen counter... its a bit if a pain to clean it up every time I build but I do it... This is my presto-chango model supply cabinet. Looks just like any ole' jelly cabinet. Until you see whats inside This is the entirety of my stash...there are maybe 6 or 7 more than when this was taken. I store these in the back unfinished are in my basement. The dresser next to the shelf has most of my model spray paints, nail polish colors, MCW bottles, junk models, etc. This i the bench in the garage where I do my painting.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 (edited) Darin, that's a fabulous set up. Wow, lots of great and happy modelling, buddy. Cheers, DC Edited January 29, 2012 by Dr. Cranky

steve7119 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) I have a 12'X20' work shop and a very understanding wife. When we planned the house, I planned a workshop space. Had to build the house myself to get it, but It did work out. She has a 12 x 14 sewing room too, so she understands. Took me 15yrs to get the room started and as you can see from the pics, it isn't done. This is from outside the door. To the right side is a display case Main work space Panning to the left Shelves with some of the stash there. Added the TV this fall so I could watch the racing I like but the wife hates Opposite side of the room with the spraybooth At some point I will finish the room, but for right now, it gives me a place to work Edited January 29, 2012 by steve7119
Jeff Johnston Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Here is mine, it is in my basement. I love that space !
scalenut Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Doc , the grey appliance on your small work table ? is it a dryer , or small filter?
Scottnkat Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Here's my space - these pics were taken a few months ago when I first got this room (loved it when the oldest son got married and moved out). My wife graciously offered me the room for modeling (she gets the next room that comes up for sewing / stamping / scrapbooking). Before this, we (me, my wife, and almost all the kids) would have to build models on a folding table in the livingroom or the office. First, the workbench with space for two to work comfortably: The back corner behind the workbench: The spray booth next to that area: And the rest of the "storage" beside the spray booth: There's been a few changes since these pics were taken, but this is still the same overall set up
steve7119 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I am with you! empty nest syndrome my A**! .......... There are definite advantages to having the kids grown and gone. My youngest of three is 22 and finishing college. May be back for a while when he is done, but not for very long i would guess. Besides with the other 2 out on their own, my wife and I have plenty of room for the 2 of us.
Prostreet Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Here's my little work area, I have it in my computer room. The main are is an old computer desk i got of my mom, next to that is a little bench and some storage. The last picture is the bench behind me that will have my paint booth once i pick one up, There is an in the wall AC unit i'm taking out in the spring then when i do the block in the wall i will add a dry outlet for the booth.
