SuperStockAndy Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 As much as I like Chevy, that ad is just simply putting a bad name on the company. Especially for people like me who think none of it is real anyhow.
niteowl7710 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 That's actually pretty clever and amusing, a few subtle movie references tossed in to boot. Just the thing Super Bowl ads are all about.
A.R.C. Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Irony: The page took forever to load and then the video would not play. I refreshed the page and got the video to play but it kept freezing up. It got annoying so I just closed the page. I`m so glad I`ve got a Jeep, and not one of those Chrysler specials, a real live AMC.
Austin T Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Why was it raining frogs? That's one of the many things that throws me off about this ad.
Rob McKee Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Funny ad. What they don't show is Dave in his F-350 coming to the rescue after the Chevys are burried in Frogs. Enjoy the Twinkies boys.
Chuck Most Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Maybe Chevy is just depressed. You know, the whole bankruptcy thing and all...
Lownslow Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 on a sidenote the location of the shoot was west detroit so no special effects were used
Lownslow Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Fords reply, our truck survived a "real" tornado

mistermodel Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Why was it raining frogs? That's one of the many things that throws me off about this ad. The thing that throws me off is a chevy being the only thing that survived. The creators of the commercial did there job,it got your attention
Fabrux Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 What was it that Will Smith drove in I Am Legend? Oh yeah, a Ford Expedition!

62rebel Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 yup. drive-in theaters. i fondly remember the Fort Drive-in in Lynchburg, VA... as well as the Amherst Drive-in in Madison Heights. "let's all go to the snack bar, let's all go to the snack bar..." all-night horror movie marathons and spaghetti western nights..... fireworks on the 4th of July. tire spikes in the driveway to the ticket office; "DO NOT REVERSE" on the ticket window. my buddy Jeff backed over them one night. that was a cold walk home.

slantasaurus Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 It seems Ford can't take a joke.... http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/02/07/ford-cant-seem-to-take-a-joke-but-its-not-the-end-of-the-worl/
Darin Bastedo Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 What was it that Will Smith drove in I Am Legend? Oh yeah, a Ford Expedition! Yeah chevy, It's all fun and games until your service dept. manager gets killed and eaten by zombies!

Monty Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Dear Chevy, the next time you want to run a TV ad that's meant to show how tough your trucks are, skip the Barry Manilow soundtrack. Sincerely, Real men
