JS23U Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I once had that metallic blue version. Although knowing the age of the molds I was so disappointed of both the parts quality and the cab proportions (windshield, as Ed wrote) that I finally sold it and never again bought one. But I love this year's cabin because of the wraparound windshield. It is the most appealing year for me of all those "early" Ford Trucks.
ZIL 111V Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Made the "Big Ten... Ford" version back in the 70's... Tough kit to build back then...not the best fitting parts!!!
mikemodeler Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 After reading through this post I am inclined to get rid of this model from my stash. I would rather wait until a new tool is offered than to struggle with this kit. I appreciate the information these posts provide, keep them coming!
Daddyfink Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Well, you can do a Volare front end swap, a big rear window conversion and some serious body work! That should make it better!
Duntov Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I recently built the Roth 2002 version….. It looks nice now…..but was not one of my more pleasurable builds…. the doors were a pain in the butt……that is being kind….. I know I have several more buried in my inventory…..they need to go away…...
freshawk Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 So I have been working on this again the past couple days... So many ejector marks , and sink holes...
thatz4u Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I wish Revell or or someone(Moebius) would re-tool this truck, the 56 F-100 was truely a classic, as well as being ahead of it's time.
tooltas Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 the 53 f100 by amt is a way better kit tilnose one is better then the poor 56'

The two-piece firm vinyl tires were awful, too.
oldcarfan Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I used one of the 80s releases of this kit to build a stock truck. I used the bed from the amt 53 f100 because it is much closer to the real one. Does the ROth version include the stock parts and also does it have the small rear window? If so, I may have to get one.

Yes, it includes some (maybe even many) stock parts, but a factory stock engine was never included. Here's the original H-1283 issue: As for the Ed Roth reissue from 2002, the cab is indeed the 'small' window variety. Here's a look at what was included:
