I build 70's and up, with a few 60's era thrown in, thats what has my interest, since I was born in 80, Its hard for me to get interest in cars that are older then that really. I find it that I like to build era's of cars that I can relate to , or can still be seen driving around.

I'll build pretty much any era vehicle, ranging from the Teens up to modern vehicles. I do tend to favor '50s-'70s for the most part, though.

To answer Nicks secondary questin, it's basically the same answer, I'll build kits tooled from just about any era, if the subject matter catches my attention.

Traditional rods-n-kustoms. I built a whole lot of AMT trophy kits when I was a kid, loved them then and now. I'd rather build an AMT 32 Ford than ANY of the much "superior" Revell kits. Not only do I love the old style hot rods, it takes me back to my youth when on any given day you might see a Tee Bucket or two, maybe a couple 40 Fords, and even a few straight axle GM's cruising the local streets. Back when the Grand National Roadster show was in Oakland, a bunch of the street worthy show cars would cruise down East 14th street after the show and meet up at Sambo's restaurant for coffee and lots of gab. I spent more than a few late nites consuming too much coffee!

50's to 70's factory stocks since that's the era I grew up in and remember fondly. NASCARs got me back into the hobby in the 90's and lately I'm on a kick of 60-70's stock cars.

Mostly anywhere from the "brass age" through the 50s.

Building models of modern cars doesn't interest me in the least. Not to say that there's anything wrong with building modern cars... I just find the cars of the early part of the 20th century so much more interesting, design-wise.

Interesting question. I have been thinking about this subject for a while - mainly in an attempt to limit myself to purchasing certain kits. I have narrowed my favorite era, for American cars, to 1961 to 1966, or so. Really I am trying to concentrate on 1962/3. I just really like the long, simple lines of the era.

Anything American, rear wheel drive and built before Elvis went to da great gasoline station / drive through in da sky...........

Anything built AFTER Elvis in my opinion has no taste , worthyness or business being on the road !

The 30's thru the 70's. Some of the cars now are nice to build. (Camaro ,Challenger and the trucks) I have always been a fan of the muscle cars. With the older cars there is just so many ways to build them. One build I might want them to shine. And the next I might want a old junker rotting out in a feild.

When I started building, the muscle car era was coming to an end. Not much interested me from '73 on so that probably got me started on the classic hot rods. T-buckets, '32 Fords, '40s. Any kits of '50s cars always caught my eye. There are so many more options today than there was in the '70s, that I now, almost exclusively buy '60s era cars. It seems like I've always preferred cars that were 30-40 years old, no matter how old I was (am).

I wonder if it may be a generation thing also. With video games and computers kids don't have much interest in building models, it's almost like a dying hobby. I tried to my 13 year old nephew into it but he is only interested in computers and video games. I have noticed in my surfing and model shows that 50-70's is huge, but then I look at how many modern Stang's Revell puts out (2005 to 2010 is huge, GT's, GT500's, etc so there must be a market for those. And look how many 2008/09 Challenger kits are out on the market and now the new 2010 Camaro kits.

I find 60-70's muscle cars are cool kits, you can do the stock street version and the you can spice it up and do a custom version with low profile tires, etc.

I like cars from the 1940's to the early 1970's. Yeah, there are some newer cars that interest me, but these are the main things that yank my chain.

I build just about anything. The majority of my builds cover '50s-'90s, but I do have some older and some newer. I go through cycles sometimes where I'll focus on a couple builds from a certain time period and then I'll move on to another. I also swing back and forth between cars and pickups.

And then once in a while I dabble in the Star Trek kits... :)

I have built everything era wise from a Ford Ranger Splash, to a 1930 Packard. But I do have a soft spot in my heart for big elegant cars,I.e. Hudson hornet,59' Cadillac, 59 Impala.
