kruleworld Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 If you haven't seen this movie, you're lucky! it's taken a poor script (sm2) and made it worse. Its so bad that Burt Reynolds wanted nothing to do with it. The basic premise is Big Enis challenges the retiring Sherriff Justice to make a cross country run and gets the Bandit to stop him. Without the Bandit, the task falls to his sidekick (snowman). He gets a new trans-am for this outing, which is a 82-83 Pontiac Firebird, its' virtually the same car used in the Knight Rider, so that's where i started, with the MPC KR kit. i basically stockified the KR kit. I removed the distinctive nose scanner and changed the steering wheel to stock. i did have a 99 firebird dash that i was going to use, but i couldnt' find it in my parts box when it came time to build, doh. I added the distinctive gold band before masking and painting the gloss black. it polished up nicely.
martinfan5 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Love it, did the same thing with a none KR kit, minus the snowman figure
crispy Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Noiw you need a shark to strap to the top! Nice looking build. Chris
martinfan5 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) The only thing I did different was I made a clear windshield instead of using the kit one. And yes it was horrible movie. I made the license plate for the car, if you want I can send you it to you along with the flag plate too Edited February 16, 2012 by martinfan5
RatRodMarc Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 nice build i agree to movie was not great at all
crazyjim Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Nice build. I like SHINY :) . I liked the movie because I was entertained and having to try to think what was going to happen. Kinda the same reason I watch the brainless WWE stuff on Monday and Friday nights.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I'm assuming the figure comes with a kit. I had never seen it. Great job on the build and the pictures, thanks for sharing.
W-409 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Great build, paintjob looks very good to me. You did great job with that figure too. If you haven't seen this movie, you're lucky! it's taken a poor script (sm2) and made it worse. I disagree, the movie was good! Not as good as Smokey & Bandit 1 and 2, but good anyway.
Rob McKee Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I agree with the others your model of the T/A looks great. Where did you get the snowman figure? I have to cast my vote to terrible movie. This movie totally bombed at the box office making less than 6 million. To bad considering the first movie was huge bringing in 127 million. The second movie brought in 66 million.
The70judgeman Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Agree...VERY poor attempt at a movie. What a waste of film and don't blame Burt Reynolds for not doing it. Even the second movie kind of sucked. The first one was the best of the lot and they should have left well enough alone. But despite the movie...your build looks great! Like the figure too...GO SNOWMAN!...I mean...BANDIT!
kruleworld Posted February 22, 2012 Author Posted February 22, 2012 Where did you get the snowman figure? I'm assuming the figure comes with a kit The figure is Adam kit from Prieser.
1zebra3 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Veary nice looking TransAm. Have you done the first car also?
