Shelby Daytona Coupe Body Color

I am going to be putting together the Model Factory Hiro Shelby Daytona Coupe in the near future and I was planning on ordering paint from Model Car World.

I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the blue used on the Daytona Coupe’s body? If there is not a standard blue for the Daytona Coupe does anyone know what other people have used?

The early Daytona Coupes were painted Viking Blue Metallic, the later ones were Guardsman Blue Metallic.

Viking is the lighter, Guardsman is the darker...

Also it depends on the car and race you want to depict, and to confuse you some one was red at one time and also there was a white one!

I had a diecast red Coupe. A guy that owns a coupe and a roadster both built by Factory 5, told me there was no red Daytona. Now I can give him the business about it. Not to worry, he's a friend and has a sense of humor concerning his cars. He even lets kids climb in them at shows.

I knew I shoulda bought it back in 96' while I was covering a vintage race there was a vendor selling books the paper slip cover was torn and he only wanted $75. for now I could kick myself in the behind!!!
