That's the one I had! Got it for Christmas '75 (?) & put Tonka wheels on the back (UGLY) cuz they were the only wide tires I could find big enough.

Chuck, origionally, M P C called that E-300 the "Ironsidevan " as Raymond Burr , police detective along with his pair of super sluths solved crimes in San Francisco. I had that van as I owned a couple of E-300 LWB Fords over the years . Yes , I agree, the details on it are downright fabulous ............... Ed Shaver

Whaddabout this???

It's got a couple things going for it:

It's a van

It's a Chrysler product

Why, it's a win-win!

I am not a Mopar fanatic. I do, however, sell on eBay. On eBay, you get to see how many people are watching your auction. On Chrysler products, the "watch" list is generally twice as long as other manufacturers. Do they always bring the most $$? No, but if "watching" something translates to interest/demand, I think it works pretty good as an indicator.

I would like to see the 1/20th Ford van as well - just thinking from Round2's perspective.

I could not only live with the 1/20 scale van, I could live very well with it. In fact, it would vastly improve the quality of my life.

Amen to that, Chuck. Revell is putting out a 76 Van. It's listed on MODEL ROUND UP.

I hope they call come back, why not?

Which '76 van are you referring to? Where is it listed?

But that's neither a '76, nor 1/20 scale???

I am thinking the good Doctor was mistaken in his post.

No, it's not 1/20. It's 1/24.

Only thing Model Roundup has listed as coming out is Revell's 1/24 1977 Chevy.

I thought the 1/24 vans were done originally by Monogram (Revell's pre-merger 1975 G-20 Chevy Van as I recall was 1/25 scale).

As for the Dodge van, last time I remember it being done was as the Cannonball Run Ambulance Van (and yes it would be cool to see it come out again).

They were, and that's what the forthcoming Revell reissue is. See here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53928

The Rescue 911 kit was the last version issued, but the grille is downright horrible. I would love to see Round2 put the $$$ into repairing and backdating the kit to '71 specs.

Back to Chuck's request, the 1/20 Mid Ford van was originally(?) issues as the "Ironside Van":

...and also the "The Wizard Ford Custom Van":

...and lastly the "Visible Van"

I completely forgot about the Rescue 911 version (and I do indeed remember it). It means AMT/Ertl at least still had and used the molds after many of the other tools got retired.

The Ironside van is indeed an interesting one as I believe it is the ONLY model kit van done with a handicapped conversion, at least that I have heard of anyway. 1/20 is a bit of an odd scale, although I see some 1/20 Revell snap vans from circa 1979-82 popping up on eBay semi frequently as well.

Now if Revell were to also find and dust off the 1/32 van molds (the Emergency Van, the Vanana Split and some others) that would also be nice to see. Having the Vandal come back for another run would be cool too, although that is more of a custom than a van (albeit a cool looking custom).
