wgflatliner Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Here is a minor update. Got the frame done and touched up, and I finished up some basic engine work. I managed to find the water pump. The tacky paint was tacky enough to stick to the wall. So while I was sifting through the shag carpet, I briefly gave up and gazed at nothing. Then a little shiny thing on the wall got my attention. 12 hours later. So anyways the part was cleaned up and done in gold via the alclad path, and radiator done in chrome, and all installed and detail painted. Will get better pics uploaded when I get home.
Cool Hand Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Looks good so far Mark. Interesting colour choice for the frame, fits the show car style well I think..
mopar68 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Excellent start all, looks enticing but I have a habit of not finishing these sorts of things So I'll sit on the bench and watch instead. Amazing paint as always Luke. Looking forward to your project Dr Cranky. Mark that chassis/engine is looking great, really tidy. Keep it going fellas, I'm watching
diymirage Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 never been a fan of lowriders so i wont be joining this as a matter of fact, ive only build one and i thought i'd show it here

Cool Hand Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Progress update on the Belair. Engine completed, added some extra detail. Small hose that goes from water pump to manifold, generator bracket, fuel line, wired a TPB pre drilled distributor, throttle linkages and return spring. Chassis completed. Lowered by flipping front spindles and cutting rear spings.

Joker Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Here is where I'm at... picked up a neat set of wire wheels at a recent show. Worked on the front seat head rest and deepened the seat separations to give it some more definition. Also finished the Chevy heartbeat. Next thing is a silver basecoat ..let it sit for 2 days. Working on the interior while the body sits for a while. James aka Joker
wgflatliner Posted March 9, 2012 Author Posted March 9, 2012 Great work so far guys! I want to start over on my hinges. The wobble of the doors is a bit much because the tubes are too big for the wire. Small hiccup but fixable.
Joker Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Looking good so far James. Thanks.. some updates...silver base sprayed ...chassis done hoping to be done by Sunday ..more like Monday James aka Joker
Dr. Cranky Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 James, I love the way this one is sitting and looking so far. Very nice.

Dr. Cranky Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Mark, all that gold is looking right in place. Good progress.
Cool Hand Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Good to see your progressing with your builds James and Mark. Im currently at a stand still on the Belair, im patiently waiting for a delivery of some flat clear which should be on my doorstep next week some time. All I have left is to do is finish the interior, all parts have been painted but some of the parts need a coat of the flat clear. Then Its just a matter of doing detail work and final assembly. So while im waiting I decided to get started on another build.Hope its ok to build more than 1 Mark. Lowriders are my interest lately so im liking this thread topic very much. Revell 65 Chevelle. After some modifications to the rear chassis and cutting the coils, the ride height was set. Rough mock up.
W-409 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Luke, that looks amazing so far. Great to see Lowriders being built from different subjects. Is that going to be also gloss black? That color have been looking very good on your latest builds. It would be a lot of fun to build one, but I don't have any good basis for the build right now.
