Dr. Cranky
David, no . . . these are my Google Image parents. My parents were both terrified of motorcycles and my old man died in 1997 not knowing the kind of freedom a motorcycle is!

Dr. Cranky
Aw shucks, thanks my friends. Actually, Junior, you are right, I do have a nice bike and it's about to get a little crazier: Here it is now: And here are the new tins I just finished painting. A buddy of mine did the pinstriping. My hands are too shakey for pinstriping.
martinfan5
Do I wonder about Virgil, not really, I try not to think about other guys , I really admire him for how he keeps his inspiration for this hobby going, and his love for eye candy. I think if you ever start losing your mojo, talk to Virgil. I do respect his work, I may not really care for the rust look, but he does a darn good job, and his shiny work is just as good, I think you can learn a lot from him, and I agree he is a big part of this forum. Dr. Cranky
I don't know exactly what I have done to get this HE'S-A-JOLLY-GOOD-FELLOW song going on here, but hey, I'm just trying to have fun in this hobby, and this forum is full of great builders and wonderful friends. Here's a sound track that always reminds me of my styrene addiction:

crazyjim
Oh my god! You turned the shiny sheet metal into satin? And they call me crazy? What are you going to do with all the chrome? The wonder about you has stopped - now I'm worried about you.
Dr. Cranky
Ha, I knew you were going to say that. No worries, the change ain't happening yet. I am waiting for the bike to age and weather naturally and then I will make the change. When the pipes go, I will wrap them in tape.

Agent G
Interesting bike Virgil! I like mine stock. I sort of grew up around bikes. Here's grandpa and grandma ca 1920. G
Dr. Cranky
Nice bike, Wayne. Mine started out stock, but then I couldn't resist a few small, but very comfortable modifications.
crazyjim
I have extended controls as stock on my Wide Glide and added 2" extensions to those. I can stretch out my legs that way. Other additions have been braided stainless steel lines everywhere, matching billet mirrors, shifter, and foot brake, and some pin striping. Of course, my bike is SHINY :) and purple!
