kruleworld Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 This is the revell 48 ford convertable kit. i've recessed the rear license plate and removed the front bumper (including valance). decals are actually Bare Metal Foil which was a painful exercise to apply. i finally got around to doing the red pinstriping by hand. i also did a before version (i call 'greasy lightning'). it suffered damage from a leaking can of paint stripper, which melted the body into two halves. doors had to be replaced so i made new ones with aluminium. rust and dirt is painted weathering to finish it off.
Ramfins59 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Pretty cool looking model. I'll bet that, as you said, the BMF was a pain to apply.
JamesW Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 VERY nice. I can just hear John Travolta and Olivia Newton John singing. LOL
Dr. Cranky Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Excellent on both counts. I've always wanted to do a before and after like this. Very cool, and thanks for sharing.
Ryan S. Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Great, now I've got the song stuck in my head... Nice work on both of them. The foil-bolts look really good, but like they would have been a pain!
Guest Johnny Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Sweet! Now all you need is the clear hooded "Fantasy" version!
Dirkpitt289 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Very very cool. I like the idea of a before and after build
rmvw guy Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Two nice builds! I was always a fan of the two movie cars. Yours are spot on!
