Has anyone ever seen plastic/ resin kits of modern hydroplanes? Prefurably grand prix style. I've searched and found lots of older drag boats and classic hydroplanes, but nothing new. Anyone?

I wouldn't say "modern" but there was the AMT Miss Budweiser hydroplane and Revell had a combo set that had a Ford Bronco with trailer and Hydroplane. I'm sure there's others but these are the only ones I can think of at the moment.

I think the "Miss Budweiser" hydroplane you are thinking of is the 1/25 scale 1980's Miss Budweister "picklefork".

Grand Prix hydroplanes are smaller than the Miss Budweiser and usually run a V-8 engine. Miss Bud was an "unlimited" hydroplane.

I don't know that they are smaller, grand prix vs. unlimited. But I'm not looking for the old shovel nose boat for sure, I'll have to look at the pickle fork boat combo.

I know nothing about boats, but got the kit anyway. Is this what you're looking for? Sorry about the glare on the pic.

That's a Tunnel Hull, and it is also the hardest turning vehicle on the planet, nothing can out turn a tunnel. Close to a hydro but not quite.

The tunnel hulls are pretty amazing to watch if you're used to seeing unlimited hydros. The unlimiteds look to be out of control about 90% of the time but the tunnels run straight and cut like jackrabbits!

Ben, I think you mean the Testors (not AMT) Miss Budweiser, correct? If there was an AMT Miss Budweiser kit, that's new news to me and I would like to hear more details. Thanks...TIM

Whoops, my bad, your correct, Tim. It's been so long since I have seen that kit, I just remembered it being made by AMT for some reason?
