I dont know to be honest, It happens for me off and on, thats why I stay away from using krylon. What I have noticed when it happens if you wait to long to spary another coat, you either have to get all the coats spray withing the first hour or so, or wait a few days.

The only thing I can really tell you is to try a different brand of paint, It sucks, I have been trying to paint one of the new Camaro kits with Krylon sun yellow, I really like that shade of yellow, Ive been trying for two weeks now to get it painted. I have just gave up and I am trying to strip it and I am going to use either Model Master Lacquer or Tamiya paint.

any chance you put it on too thick too fast?

krylon did seem to change their formula or something a while ago (few years or so) and then it started crazing the plastic for me anyway. so you could strip it but underneath the plastic was still patterned from the paint. pretty much messed up the body. but i only noticed it when i over applied it.

As jbwelda said, Krylon changed their formula maybe a couple of years ago and it went from being one of my favorites paints to something that I don't exactly trust. The old formula is still available in their industrial line but not in as many colors and I don't know where to get it except on-line.

I don't get this thread. One brand of paint screwed up. So change the brand . I see this a lot about Krylon, but I never see it about Tamiya lacquers.

plus a can of krylon goes a whole lot further than a can of tamiya.

but personally, im with you, make it tamiya.

if you cant get it at the LHS, i would get it from an internet site.

You can get Gloss White and Gloss Black at All Micheals craft stores. It's labeled Krylon Specialty Laquer. The new formula is garbage. Any paint that does not say recoat at anytime is vulnerable to recoats no matter what the instructions say. Luckily I noticed the change and started buying the old stuff before it disapeared.
