Scuderia
maybe if u got some bondo and made lil balls and let them dry, then sand them round with a texture. then shot them with orange paint? thas the first suggestion that came to mind for oranges. Erik Smith
Crates can be made from styrene or scale lumber. Check in the trains or hobby wood section at the shop or online. The oranges could be made from Sculpey or other polymer clay. You shape and bake.
Junkman
Preiser makes some G-Scale vegetables, but oranges are not among them: http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/psr/psr45207.htm For oranges you could probably use some orange beads?
Jon Cole
Well, if scale accuracy isn't top concern, you can buy what I suspect was dollhouse scale items. If I was to do this again, I would make my own wood boxes, and make the fruit from FIMO clay.

Ben
Balsa wood strip to make the crates and then go to a Michaels craft store. They should have all kinds of little things that would look like scale fruit.
Harry P.
These are made of Sculpey, but they're pretty expensive. http://stewartdollhousecreations.com/1-24food05 Hey... if they can make them, so can you.
Dr. Cranky
Harry, you are absolutely right, Sculpey works beautifully for this kind of work. The crates, of course, will be easier to make out of real wood. Just get the scale right and it should look fine.
Jantrix
The crates are no sweat. A little basswood and some craft glue and you are good to go. The super sculpey for the fruit sounds like the way to go.
Guest Johnny
Styrofoam beads should be close to the right size. Just have to watch what you paint them with!
Austin T
Ok thanks for the ideas guys.I might have to ask my sister for some sculpey clay and start from there.

The super sculpey for the fruit sounds like the way to go. Yeah use basswood for the crates. For the oranges check out the bead dept. of your local craft store. A 3-5mm bead should work. Lots of times you may even find the color your need, or get some white pearls, and paint them.
Dave Van
I know they are hard to see....but I made all of mine from the oven bake clay from craft stores. Bought off white clay and painted them after baking. Easy to do.....
Aaronw
Doll house stuff was already mentioned, but G scale model railroad stuff also often works well. It varies in scale from from 1/20 to 1/30 but for extra bits and bobs that isn't usually noticable. For making it yourself I agree with the bass wood and sculpy. For closed crates you can get a chunk of balsa about the size you want then glue bass wood strips to it making it even easier than building a hollow box from basswood alone. Zarana-X
Airsoft ammo, dollhouse accesories? Other than that, super sculpey sounds like the way to go.

Agent G
Basswood and clay, now that's the ticket. Also peruse the counter at a coffee shop. Most have wood stir sticks that are just perfect for scale lumber. They mix paint well also......... G
High octane
You can check with Scale Equiptment Ltd. for crates as they may have some?
