I agree though, deciphering the REALLY poor grammar usage can get to be rather annoying.

I suppose it's better than ebonics though, I've NEVER been able to understand that dialect.

Under general rules of conduct:

Watch your spelling and grammar

It's not too hard to include correct punctuation and capital letters at the beginning of sentences. Also, I am not sure it's real prevalent - we don't remember or think about posts written in proper form, but quickly notice and recall deviations.

It is not a huge deal, but does detract from a post if somebody is attempting to describe a build or technique.

It seems gentle nudging usually ends in a "who made you spell check god" type of response, though.

Do what I do. Whenever I see a post that's gibberish I don't even bother trying to decode it. I just ignore it.

If someone is too lazy to post their comments in actual, legible, understandable English, why waste your time trying to figure out what they said?

Agreeing with Harry and subsequent posts, what ON EARTH are you talking about?

It really aint that bad! Some may be doing the best that they can.

If some of those gibberish posts are people doing the best they can, what does that say for the education system in this country?

More to the point, what does it say about that persons desire to learn and prosper.

There are few on the forum who (or is it whom) do post in gibberish and it seems some come and go. By and large, I think most posts are pretty well written.

Some people haven't grown out of the time when we had to pay for every text, and could only use 60 characters per text-

Nowadays, with smart phones and unlimited plans, you don't have to shorten things so much- unfortunately some people still haven't caught up...

Heh, I still didn't shorten my texts back then, now that I think of it...

lighten up, Skip. this post has NOTHING to do with my "alternative history" question from the other day.

or, in the local vernacular; chillax.

Speaking of the common language that separates us... I love reading Christian's posts.

Where else would I hear words like "pillock?" :D

What are these 'texts' you speak of? No cell service in my area so I haven't succumbed yet. I suppose it's only a matter of time....

No cell service in your area????? It's 2012... how is that possible? Are you saying that nobody where you live has a cell phone? That's hard to believe.
