Steven7319 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 hi i just finished this build. i built it for my girlfriend and she wanted it in pink so here it is. its a box stock tamiya kit apart from the dice on the rear view they are an eyebrow piercing ring.why not! i thought id do just minimal weathering to it so i just airbrushed a dirt shade around the bottom part of the car.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Different, and well done. Thanks for sharing, Steven.
Wagoneer81 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Very nice! I like the fact that you did a custom paintjob and then gave it a light, daily-driver style weathering...
kruleworld Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 nicely done. i like the dice on the mirror. paint could use some polish but is a neat design and it's well photographed. and a tip for next time, sand off the seams like the one running along the top of the front fenders.
Steven7319 Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys. It came out ok for a quick build. What's the best thing to use to polish the paint? Never had to do it before as I've only done bangers up till now. Lol. Agree about the seams to be honest I ment to do them but got a little carried away with the airbrush first.
3men2s Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Did you use the EASTCOAST CUSTOME GERMANY EPISODE to do this one...lots of points with the honey
Danno Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Yikes! Barbie had a Mini? Who knew? (Nice build, Steven.) -
Zarana-X Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Looks good. Don't care for the pink wheels much, though. I've had good luck polishing using Mothers Plastic polish, Meguir's is also good. I hear. Just let the paint cure for a few days before you try it.
XJ6 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Pink Mini...well you know what....you did do a Good Job.....and Well "I Like It"... Good For you...or Her...Oh never mind...Congrat's to both
sports850 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Yikes! Barbie had a Mini? Who knew? Barbie had a hot pink mini moke actually ... but it had to be renamed a summer buggy or something as the US market didn't know what a moke was ....
