Chuck Most
Cool! I have that Minicraft Model A kit, but haven't done much to it other than glue the engine halves together. Like the way yours is shaping up. And as an IH truck fanatic, I like the idea of doing a big-scale KB5.

midengineaddict
that kit is a bear to built the glue hates the truck The conception of the cab is the worst I ever seen, the door fitment was painful and nothing guarantees me the door will hold in place, I don't have any plans to buy this kit again. But after 400h of work on it, I suppose its better to finish it.
midengineaddict
that kit is a bear to built the glue hates the truck your comment make me ask a question, why the companies produce a model in something else than white styrene? the colored plastic is hard to glue, and everybody prime and paint their model so the color in the plastic is useless. For me, it's an unsolved mystery, maybe its a worldwide conspiracy to make the modelers drink beer to calm their nerves... They do not fit flush when closed ! I have not tried putting my copies of this truck together yet to understand your problem (if it is other than what I was referring to ) This is a nice Build ! I like the way it is heading .Good luck.
midengineaddict
I never knew that, it makes me understand why I worked that much to make the door flush to the body... sorry for the Minicraft fans. It's just that I was disappointed the first time I open the box and see that the roof and the rear of the cab is molded separately from the front section and the firewall, and once glued together, the 2 parts hold by the very thin window frames. be sure that I love this model and I love the result, but the cab broke into several part 3-4 times during the building process, maybe I don't have the better glue for the kit. To resume, I have to say that I had more joy than disappointment building it and its a good kit but I think it can be better if mold in white styrene. midengineaddict
A little update, I started the floor with checker plate and finished 1 seat and started the other This my first Photoetch weld, it looks like hell but it was a good practice . I took the seats from the MPC big charger kit and cut them to fit the dirt modelers PE racing seats and cover all with model factory Hiro seats covering cloth.. midengineaddict
Thank you Ron, I'm not fully satisfied about this seat, it seems to be designed for E.T. or a giraffe but I'll keep it, it's just a practice for my KB5 project. it will become the passenger seat anyway...
