Scuderia Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 This is my firsrt U.G finish since I signed up here, and is pretty much box stock. Only real modification was ditching the stock intake and using an old-school Nascar kit intake. The one in the kit (and 85 T/A) is awkward and I didn't like using it at all. This wasn't bad to put together overall. My gripes are the rear window doesn't sit in right which is probably my own fault. I had the rear spoiler on before window assembly and it made a chore getting the window in. I also attempted to modify the suspension to lower it and in doing so made a laugh of the drivers front tire, and passenger rear. This one will get redone at some point and I'll probably gift this one away. Paint is Rust-oleum painters touch sun yellow, future clear.
Intmd8r Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Nice touch on the intake. If you didn't know what you're looking for, you might have overlooked it.
Scuderia Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks, i wish i had cut the front of it down more and slid it forward a bit. That way my air box assembly would sit more flush on the front rail.
Rusty Sierra Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 paint looks awesome on this... too bad about the rear windsheild.
cooltoys1 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 nice job. i like the paint alot! my aunt had a yellow formula just like it when i was growin up.
Scuderia Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks, the kit is pretty neat once put together. I'm glad they repopped this not long ago. Mine was the original early 90s version.
1fine89 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 It totally looks like the car from "the big hit" with Mark Walberg. Tried to find a youtube clip but no luck. Nice build!
Scuderia Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Interestin mike. ive never seen the movie myself. If i remember next time im movie hunting ill keep an eye out for sure. Thanks again guys.
Scuderia Posted April 8, 2012 Author Posted April 8, 2012 Thanks i really fancy the Sun Yellow i just noticed some diff. shades of yellow they produce while i was at Home Depot yesterday, pretty excited
Deathgoblin Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Looks very good. I'll be honest: if you hadn't said anything about the rear windshield, I wouldn't have noticed at all, and it's still hard to spot. Good Work!
