jerseyjunker1 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 this car is a 1957 mercedes. it was a tin car that is a perfect 24th scale. it was all tin including the interior. i cut the body to make opening doors hood and trunk. put it on a diecast chassie and made an interior using old aged cloth..hope it aint to scary to look at. lol
Chuck Most Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Nicely done! No more Grey Poupon for this Benz.
XJ6 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I Don't know why..but when i first saw that...The movie with ole Dennis Weaver...The Dual, I believe was the name of it..Came to mind...Funny how the mind works.. Cheers...Don
Grumpa Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 This one has seen one to many New Jersey winters! What genius to take a tin toy car and turn it into this. Incredible!
kruleworld Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 very convincing weathering and i like the gobs of detail you've added. Looks like tin toys make a suitable base for a junker, mostly because it's thin compared to styrene.
chrismooney Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Great old Mercedes.....almost had a 1-1 that looked just like it... hence why i didnt buy it.. LOL keep up the good work!
