curt raitz Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Started with a Jimmy Flintstone resin Porche 550, Matchbox Porsche Speedster plastic kit and Pattos decals. After modifying the body and tweeking the decals, I came up with this: thanx for lookin'...
Erik Smith Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Cute! No offense! I like it. Nice execution on an uncommon build.
rmvw guy Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 That's some nice work there Curt. I like it a lot.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Curt, you keep hitting homeruns. Another wonderful (and rare) subject added to your collection.
trey allen Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I like. my dad has a 550, I bought a resin body to build like his, but havent gotten to it yet.
peter31a Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Cool beans Curt. That's a fantastic little build! Love the older Porsches like that especially the racing versions. Thanks for sharing.
Harry P. Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I don't know about that "55" being all one piece right over the door opening...
curt raitz Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 I don't know about that "55" being all one piece right over the door opening... I know Harry... dang, the more I tried to get the decal to "suck into the door gaps" the more the ink dissappeared from the decal. will go back in and try to clean up after it's had a chance to sit awhile and I get inspired again thanx
Harry P. Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Slice the decal along the door line and use setting solution to get it to snuggle down into place.
curt raitz Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Went back in and cleaned up the panel lines and flowed a little "black-wash" to accentuate the doors and front bonnet area. lookin' much better... thanx for lookin'...
Erik Smith Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The decals on the side look much better. Nice revision.
