I was originally going to put this Cummins in my Smokey and the Bandit Kenworth that I was working on but now that I have a really nice resin kitty kat 1693 to put in it, this Cummins will go into a Kenworth cabover that I am building right now. I just redid the intake side of the turbo and crossover pipe to the aftercooler this morning. For those intersted, the fuel and oil filter decals can be purchased from Kurt McLucas here in the forum. They're really nice!

Ben,

The Cummins looks real!! Great detail and workmanship. Hope you enjoy building the Kitty Kat!

Dave

Thank you Dave, I've cleaned all the parts for the 1693 but I have not built it yet. It's going to get the full detail treatment as well! I've been saving pics for reference in detailing it.

When this urge hits you, do what I do... Hit the bench, build with a vengance and see how much farther you can take your skills! ;) Very inspiring! I'd love to have a couple of these engines sitting around waiting for a a new build to call home!

Ben...

That is a cool engine indeed...

We got to do the "C" logo on the manafold

Kurt

LOL, I had one on there! It fell off. You can see it in my avatar. I didn't notice it until I took these pics. I think one of the sheets I got from you has them. I just need to put one back on.

What color did you paint the transmission? I built one years ago for a Kenworth and I painted it beige along with the engine. I am going to build a Diamond Reo and a White boss, so I was going to detail them better than the last one, and i really liked yours. That came out great.

Thanks Tim, the engine is painted with Tamiya XF-55 Deck Tan and the transmission was sprayed with red primer. Everything was very lightly dry brushed with silver and then a thinned black wash added.

DANG! That look Great! Makes me want to go that route on my engine,,,,,,,do I want to? Then the rest of the truck has to match. Can't wait to see the rest of the build! Thanks for sharing.

great job on the engine Ben, is the compressor the kit part?

Hey Christopher, thanks! The compressor is a resin unit. I'm not sure if it's a copy of a kit part or where it originated from? I got it from Jamie Rahmoeller.
