I love it! that's really cool how the wheels fold down. I have the Polar Lights & AMT versions & they don't offer that. Great detailing.

What did you use for extreior paint?

WOW... very cool. I always loved those Deloreans... I wish they made the model of the Factory Stock version. I would build a few.

I used Duplicolor aluminum on the body, polished that and Testors dark gull Grey on the front & rear. I used gloss clear over the front & rear, looks shinier in RL than in the pics...

This is the original AMT release, from 1990 ish, it's made by Aoishima, just repacked in an AMT box.

If there was a BTTF III car, I could see why that one wouldn't have teh hover option.

AMT is a reboxed version of the Aoshima kit with fold-down wheels. i've never seen the PL version. I think it's all included, but they don't show you how to assemble it in a functional way.

VERY NICE JOB! B):)

It definitely looks like you've spent a good deal of time on it and it turned out GREAT. All of the colors look perfect and the weathering is fantastic!

I have the same kit sitting in my office. I bought it planning to make a pro-street Delorean, however, when I took it out of the box and saw the big cables running down the sides were molded as part of the body, I put it back on the shelf. I still want to do the project some day... Just wasn't feeling up to doing all of the work to make the body look stock.

One of my best friends in high school told me his parents had bought a Delorean brand new... I thought he was pulling my chain until he pulled out a few old pics of it sitting in their driveway and in front of their house. According to him, it had a lot of problems, so they sold it after owning it for a year or so.

Bet they wish they had held on to it now... Not sure what they're worth, but I would think it'd bring in a decent amount nowadays. They should have put it in a "Time Capsule"

The Polar Lights kit is a separate tooling than the

Aoshima/AMT kits. I have one of the P-L kits. It has metal axles

and a Chrome plated body.

Aoshima has re-issued the series at least once. there are as many as 4 kits.

Original movie with the Folding wheels & Mr Fusion as well as the lightning rod.

Second movie with Wide Whites, and Third movie with Rail wheels

I have recently seen smaller 1/43 scale kits showing up from them too.

Wish AMT would contract to offer this one again.

They featured one on 'Wheeler Dealers' and bought a nice running example for $15,000.
