Kaleb Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Ive been looking for some small drill bits for awhile. The smallest I found is 1:64 is this the best to use for wire or 1:32?

Kaleb Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) Wow thanks I'll keep watch on those. I just bought 24 1:32 drill bits they seemed to be the right size. That was before these sets. Edited April 16, 2012 by Kaleb
JunkPile Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Harbor Freight has a set ot two to choose from. Cheap. Size starts at tiny, very tiny. Pin vice and/or Dremel work with these. All have 1/8" shank. These make for a nice set.
Dave Van Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Got my set off ebay for $5 10 sizes all small then 1/32.
The70judgeman Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Got some cheapy bits from Harbor Freight for around $5 or less. Thirty bits ranging from 0.5mm - 3mm. Drill Master item #94606.
Longbox55 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 What you really need to look for are Wire Gauge drill bits, also commonly called Pin Drills. Most sets run from #61 (.039" ) to #80 (.013" ). A well stocked hobby shop should have them, Zona makes a very nice set, as does Exel. You can also find them at any hardware store. BTW, 1/32" is .0313, which is equivalent to a #68 drill.
wisdonm Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 You can get the #60-81 drill index set inexpensively at a welding supply company. They call them tip cleaners for gas welders.
MicroNitro Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 If you need to drill into metal with a power drill or mill be careful. You will need a higher grade drill such as these on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HXMOYK/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details They have every size you will need.
tabsscale1 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I just bought these Off ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/370597837168
