Rusty Sierra Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 started working on this kit about a week ago. It's coming together nicely despite some difficulty. I really wanted to try a shiny paint job due to the fact that I've never actually accomplished a decent one. I sanded the body, primed it and applied two coats of Testors star spangled blue lacquer from the can. I didn't use clear because I am actually terrified of ruining it. I think I'll be using only a few decals from the sheet however, I am undecided. I'll probably invest into an airbrush as soon as I can but I can't believe how good it came out with just two coats of lacquer. I know there are some orange peel spots but I'm happy with it.
turn1wonder Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I'd be happy with the whole build Rusty. Looks real good to me as it is, paint-wise. Now you have to decide on foiling the trim or not, the sister kit to this I couldn't bring myself to do it and maybe mess up the body. Bob
Rusty Sierra Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I'm actually fairly confident with the BMF I'll do the center piece of trim and see how she goes
Rusty Sierra Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I take back what I said about the BMF...
Assa9 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Very nice a nice paint job and color choice. Bueatiful paint comes from patience and preperation not by the tool or lack thrre of. I am impressed
Roncla Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 That is looking really good. I'm waiting for delivery of the same kit.
