Mad Slammer Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I built this thing for another forum's Box Stock Challenge... Hope you like it...
Scuderia Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Looks mighty out of the box! good job, What paint is that?
Mad Slammer Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) Duplicolor Medium Charcoal grey, and Tamiya clear... I filled the T-Tops, never liked the fit so they're gone... Thanks... Edited April 25, 2012 by Mad Slammer
martinfan5 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) I like it too, OOB kits can be a good thing from time to time, I am going to see if I can find that at the parts store, I like the color too Edited April 25, 2012 by martinfan5
DumpyDan Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Nice Job on the roof, not that easy to hide that T-Top, Car looks good!
Mad Slammer Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Thanks guys... I made a mistake on the color... it's Duplicolor, but Gunmetal metalic cc. Sorry....
TooOld Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 It looks much better with no T-tops . Very nice build ! The color is perfect and your detailing of the taillight lenses is great !
rmvw guy Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Out of box does not always mean "Factory Stock". I like it! I'm about 50/50 on OOB with what I build right now. Nice job on yours Roberto !
Tom Setzer Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I keep saying I'm going to build a model OOB, but I always end up Modifing it. I lke the look of your model, The Filled Roof and paint colour makes look great!
deathskull59 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 cool car and it dose look beeter with no t top
Harry P. Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 How can it be "Box Stock" if you filled in the T-top???
Mad Slammer Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 How can it be "Box Stock" if you filled in the T-top??? Well, that's a good question... I only used glue and filler to do that job so that, to me counts as bodywork and paint... I didn't alter the shape of the body... I just used kit parts and "fixed" them to the body... At least that's how I see it...

I don't think most contests are going to accept that model as "Box Stock." I guess you'll find out... depends on how loosely they define "Box Stock."
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) Roberto, I think you will build others. Building box stock is a quick way of having fun with a kit and definitely a great way to getting to know a kit. Edited April 26, 2012 by Dr. Cranky
Mad Slammer Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Well Harry, I didn't build this one to compete with so that wouldn't be a big issue. I really don't like building "Box Stock" just for that same reason, I can't leave anything alone... Thanks for your input, that's why we post our work, to see what the other builders think of it...

Mad Slammer Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) "I built this thing for another forum's Box Stock Challenge..." Well then I'm guity as charged... That is no Contest, it's just a friendly Challenge... No prizes or trophies... Let's do us both a favor and leave this here... Cool? Edited April 26, 2012 by Mad Slammer
The Modeling Hermit Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Your hope has been successful. I like it.
