Dr. Cranky Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 What exactly? Making a model car move on its own power? Using software?
martinfan5 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I think he has been breathing glue and paint fumes way to long now
Zarana-X Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Four motors with cam gears. The way it looks now you will get front and back hopping. Gears look like they could be changed for side to side.
moparmagiclives Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 I prefer the twisted knot myself, but cool layout non the less
Jantrix Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Yeah, but man that's a lot of real estate your using there. You'll end up with a dancing curbside.
Brizio Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 You can use a 1/1 dancer and put the model close to it.
Lownslow Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 You can use a 1/1 dancer and put the model close to it. we have to build a actual model afterwards
Harry P. Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Even with the "explanation." I still have no idea what this post was about.
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Even with the "explanation." I still have no idea what this post was about. Harry, I think Frank is talking about using this software to build a model and then build the real thing in scale. I think! Right, Frank? Right?
Lownslow Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Harry, I think Frank is talking about using this software to build a model and then build the real thing in scale. I think! Right, Frank? Right? yep had to draw all that jazz with numbers and assemble it. this is basically how model instructions are nowadays.
Lownslow Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 heres the dirty prototype which has yet to work
Lownslow Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Soo I'm guessing Tech homework? yep its a double dip project the mechanicals for solidworks and the electricals will take care of the electrical class
moparmagiclives Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 How are you going to rig a motor stop to keep the cam from running back to center? Or are you counting on running the motors one direction only?
Lownslow Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 How are you going to rig a motor stop to keep the cam from running back to center? Or are you counting on running the motors one direction only? not sure ill know when i get there more than likely let them run in one dirrection
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Very interesting, so it's a way to pose your vehicle. I thought Hoppin' Hydros had a mechanized platform for doing this to some lowrider models.
Harry P. Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Very interesting, so it's a way to pose your vehicle. It sure would have helped to say that up front instead of posting a picture that makes no sense unless you just happened to know exactly what in the world he was talking about...
Dr. Cranky Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I agree with you, Harry, and Frank, I think it would be useful for archival purposed to have a clearer title and description of what you are talking about in part because it's a subject matter that I think many would find interesting. Here's the link to the Hoppin' Hydros system: http://www.hoppinhydros.com/
