ismaelg Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Hello, Here is my latest toy: A Sherline mini-lathe Got a great deal for it. It came with a nice base, plexiglass backsplash and the 2 drawers full of accesories and stuff. I have never used one before but I don't think it will be hard to figure it out. I'm excited! The only problem I see is that this can become a hobby in itself Thanks,
Scale-Master Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 The only problem I see is that this can become a hobby in itself Hmmmm, maybe... Dive in, you'll have a blast...
MrObsessive Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Have Fun Ismael!! I have a "Taig" mini lathe.........the motor is a little more bulky than the Sherline, the problem is I have yet to put it together! I got it off the 'bay.......but I since had to buy a new belt for it and a decent base from Taig. Like you said, once you get into machining stuff, it might become a hobby in itself!
Darin Bastedo Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Considering what you have accomplished with styrene som emetal and a few hand tools, I can only imagine what you can do with one of these once you mind starts turning.
Zoom Zoom Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I'm officially jealous  Talk about a true Corvette fanatic. You get the new Z06 kit, find out the battery from the C6 is still underhood instead of the oil sump reservoir, so you go out and get a new lathe to fix the problem! Let the obsession continue Hey, now you can turn some trim ring/spacers for the rear wheels so you can just slide on a set of new Viper tires in back.
BIGTRUCK Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Wow thats some toy , seen the sump you made and the body , its gonna be killer
