crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks Jeff & Shane. You know me Bart. SHINY :) RULES! Should be mailing you that tunnel ram and other goodies today. Thanks Dr. Cranky. Even though I use HOK and not enamels, I still use the methods Donn describes in his DVD. Thank you, Donn. Pearl Ex is cool stuff. I need to do spoons with a black basecoat and shoot the powders over that. By the way, Mr. Stepanek was my Dad.
crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Thank you Jonathan. The interior fit pretty well. Curtis - you the the license plate, huh? I've seen better undercarriages but for all I know, this is what the 1:1 Falcon was like. Thanks, Phil.
crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Thank you Chris and you too Floyd. This was the first Trumpeter kit I've ever built. Lots of little parts to put together in the kit. Just the generator is 3 parts. The fan belts are separate pieces too.
rmvw guy Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Nice, clean look to this one Jim. I love the color and the interior is sweet!
Brizio Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Beautiful, i'm in love with the interior! Great job!
crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Why thank you, Brizio. I wasn't sure about the color combo but it came out pretty good. It's just the kit interior.
mrmike Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Outstanding build Jim! I wanted to get this kit, but I passed on the price tag alone. I thought it was a little too pricey for my blood.
crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Thank you, Mike. I got the kit somewhere for about the same price as an AMT or Revell kit. I should have probably bought 2 or 3 of them but . . . Hindsight always seems to be 20/20.
Chuck Most Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Jim built something shiny? The devil you say! Very nice, on a serious note.
crazyjim Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Yeah. Me. SHINY :) . Can you believe it? Thanks Chuck.
LoneWolf15 Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Yeah. Me. SHINY :) . Can you believe it? Thanks Chuck. Please do not go near the community build section . Your blood pressure might rise quite a bit . The dark side called .... I answered ! Lol !
camaroman Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Why thank you, Brizio. I wasn't sure about the color combo but it came out pretty good. It's just the kit interior. What MM colors did you use on it? They are a perfect combo for the color scheme!
Kanedge Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Neatly built, I really like the way interior is done.
crazyjim Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 Thank you fellas. The interior colors are cream and light tan with light ivory on the floor with Ken's Fuzzi Fur on top of that. The cream was hit with flat. I don't think I've ever looked at the community build section - yet.
GrandpaMcGurk Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) You gonna bring it to the next meeting Jim? I'd like to eyeball the interior, looks great. Edited April 28, 2012 by GrandpaMcGurk
crazyjim Posted April 28, 2012 Author Posted April 28, 2012 That shouldn't be a problem, Don. May 5, 2012 will be the next meeting of FAST - Florida Auto & Scale Trucks model club meeting at the Hobby Lobby in Ocala. Meeting starts at 10:00am. (Couldn't resist putting in a blurb for the club, Don)
